I have recently had to do this. Firstly you will have to remove the bunding by cutting the stitching then the vinyl covering will be able to be removed. Inside you will find a masonite type board that is stapled to the metal sleeve that runs the length of the rod. I found the staples to be made of quite tough metal; however, I was able to straighten and reuse them in order to refix a replacement board (old one had broken away from the sleeve). The sleeve is held in place by what I can only describe as an interference fit on the rod and should be able to be removed by rotating the rod while trying to pull it from the sleeve. Hi Brad, on the right-hand side (driver's side) there should be a coil spring in between the mounting bracket and the cross shaft that takes up any movement in the cross shaft.

Thanks for the info. The sunvisors are definitely GMH parts and I cannot remember having replaced them, but they could have been sourced from another model i.e. FB or EK.

A question for the all knowing, my L/H sunvisor has broken so I am attempting to repair it. Upon removing it I noted that the part number (7409689) is followed by LH, I removed the R/H visor and sure enough it has a different part number (7409690) followed by RH. I have been unable to discern a difference between the two. Can someone enlighten me. Regards Doug

Hi All, does anyone have an original Lucas headlight for a FE they are willing to sell. I just noticed my driver's side light lens is cracked.

Have you checked to make sure the slave cylinder push rod adjusting nut lock nut is tight and not allowing the adjusting nut to unscrew thereby lengthening the slave cylinder piston travel which would reduce the fluid level in the reservoir? Just a thought. Doug
