Also,
Try a different stretch of motorway for your road tests.
Many years ago, the M4 was quite corrugated between certain on/off ramps and this caused much drama when road testing vehicles.

I then used a different section of the M4 and all vibrations gone.

To answer your original post question.

No, you won’t find anything (that you think is good enough) with the money you have budgeted.

Many cars have been offered to you (including mine which was a near perfect survivor and local) but you haven’t even been to look at what your money can buy.
Even though mine was local to you, you still never looked at what some extra dollars could buy.

I’ve even offered to inspect cars for you.

As FireKraca correctly states, you are looking for something that doesn’t exist, but you keep wining on to everyone that it does and that it’s our responsibility to find something for you.

Get real with the dollars, get out there, travel put in some hard yards and you will surely find something.

Sorry, gee bee, I did not see this message.
I did modify my ad and mentioned I was in fact the second owner.

My ad should have read one owner before me.

Gents,

My FC is now sold, and will be living a happy and luxurious life in Victoria.

I wish the new owner all the very best.

7  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / 1959 FC original braided fuel line wanted on: February 01, 2021, 09:02:27 PM
Gents.

I have recently found that my braided fuel line between the chassis and the fuel pump
has started to weep & bubble near the crimp where it connects to the fuel pump.

Would anyone have an original braided line for sale?

I would post a pic, however I can’t on this forum for some reason.

Many thanks in advance.

9  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Harmonic balancer oil leaks on: January 31, 2021, 12:48:30 PM
Be careful not to make the bush/sleeve to thick to overload the seal crush.

I have had great success with speedy sleeves.
The just need to be done properly.
Probably one of the best inventions in the automotive world.
The next is the 2 piece clutch brake for Roadranger transmissions  Smiley

Please lube the new seal before installing.

Good luck.

Gents,
2 things in my experience of engine builds and seal replacements.

The speedy sleeve should have some kind of sealant (usually silicone) wiped inside before installing.
Of course the crank needs to be very clean before you install the sleeve.
This stops oil tracking between the speedy sleeve and crank.

The seal needs to have a good fill of GP grease in the void between the sealing lip and the front of the seal, and also a whipe on the speedy sleeve.
This lubricates the seal, and stops it from burning until oil can get to it to lubricate it.

Do we all remember soaking our leather seals in engine oil for 24 hours before installing?
This was for the same reason, lubrication, but with new nylon, neoprene plastics etc etc this of course can’t be done.

So a good lube of the seal, and the sealing area it runs against is very important.

You did a great job posting that pic Doug.
Beautiful looking car.

However, there is one really bad problem.

You didn’t post enough pics of your great FE.

Ok,
Thanks for the tip Marco.

I might take the FC to Heartland Holden tomorrow, 5 minute drive.
As you guys said, good photo opportunity.

Won’t be long, and they will all be gone.

I have also found out, that the Sutton family, will now be selling Fords.

19  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Ric’s FC Special on: December 02, 2020, 09:02:21 AM
Gents,

With a heavy heart, due to my work situation, I am now selling my one owner 59 FC Special.

So you guys or girls can look it up, here are the details.
ID. FC-225-24248-S
Trim. 271-632 Venetian turquoise & black
Paint. 256-2048 Pinecrest green
Insert. 256-2038 Duchess green
Chassis number. FC-41896-S
Engine number. L563312

A few points of interest.

The original owner & his wife purchased this new in 1959 in Maitland NSW.
They drove it home to Newcastle where it was used as a daily driver until both of them passed away.
They never owned another car except this 59 Holden.

Original sales receipt
Original key
Original paint (except for a minor repair in the 60’s to the passenger side boot/guard area)
There is also slight damage to the passenger front door the chap did in the 70’s on list front gate.
Original floor and boot rubbers
Original interior
Original spare wheel & tyre (only used a few times according to the original owner)
Optional extras purchased when new, sun visor, weather shield, large clip on rear view mirror, and rear grab rail, as the owners mother was elderly and needed grab rails to get in and out of the car.
The hood lining is green, and so is the back of the rear view mirror (I’ve never seen a colour coded rear view mirror??)
They grey dash top & interior A pillars are like new.
The seats are in good condition with wear to the side tops of the front seat.
Both ashtrays are as new.
Interior is bright & vibrant.
This car lived its whole life under cover.

This car has never had a heater fitted or a radio.
It is still basically the same as when they purchased it 61 years ago.

A real time capsule.
Personal items still in glove box & boot
Car has never been out of rego since 59.
I drive it a couple of times a week.
Drives well, and is a real head turner.

I have done king pins, rear shackle rubbers, tune up, service, and coolant.
Brakes were re done a few years ago, and are working great.

As I can’t post images here, please contact me for further details & many images on
Email: patrick.ryan@udtrucks.com.au
Phone: 0409194725

I am in the Penrith area, and the car is ready at a moments notice if anyone wants a drive.

Bugger.

I didn’t even know that was on, that 10 minutes from my place.

How do we get to see what events are coming up?
