Hi guys the section of the floor pan that needed adjusting was the ribs right on the far edge of the repair section as they were not as defined as the rest of it I think that it was just in the pressing of the pan and then there was the fold on the section that goes up on 45deg angle up against the side wall it was folded up instead of down like the original ones are. Cheers Greg

Vern, all the repair sections are from rare spares, the floor pans needed a bit of a work to get the ribs to align up properly and the folds on the side where it attaches to the side kick panel needed a bit of reworking to match original. Cheers Greg

Another good day in the garage today finally got the new floor pan and cross menber in and welded up on the passenger side and now I need to replace the sill and then do it all over again on the drivers side. I am happy with the Finnish its coming up well just taking my time and doing the best that I can. I have been painting the metal parts that get covered over before I weld them in so hopefully it should last another sixty years! Cheers Greg

Found out on the weekend that the outer sills have some rust and some very average rust repairs done to them so now I am going to replace them as well as the floor pans and cross menber outer sections, oh well more time and money! Could be worse I suppose. Cheers Greg

Hi guys, got a bit done on the weekend, slowly getting there cutting out the previously very average rust repairs.I am glad that I decided to replace the previous owners repairs as they were a plate welded over the top of rusted out floor sections.  I have new floor pans to go in and some new cross menber repair sections. Cheers Greg

Well its been a while since I have posted a update on the rebuild and as I said on my last post I was just about to paint the underneath of the ute and the diff and springs after fixing a few issues on the chassis. I then was talking to my neighbor about it and said it would be a lot easier to do with a rotisserie and he turns around and said that he has one that I could have, so now the ute is finally up on the rotisserie and spinning. Now I have to get around to repairing the chassis and floor pan then repaint the underneath. So now that I have the use of the rotisserie I am going to do a full rebuild and repaint . So its going to take a lot longer than I first thought. Cheers Greg

Hi guys, looks like I have found what I was looking for as you can see in the photo of what I have been shown, this is the location of the center pivot point for the rotisserie for a fc ute. Cheers Greg

Hi guys, I have been lent a rotisserie so that I can clean up the underneath of the ute but it doesn't have a lot of adjustment to get the center of gravity right. So my question is does anyone here would know where the center of gravity would be on a fc ute for when its on a rotisserie? Cheers Greg

Looking good! What paint / rust product have you been using, I am looking at using kbs chassis paint on mine, just interested in what everyone else is using and their opinion on the product. Cheers Greg

Okay guys I have just about finished the diff and rear suspension and I have a few things to fix on the under side of the ute then I will be looking at repainting the under side and diff and suspension and I am thinking about using kbs chassis paint, any good or bad reportson this?  And also I was goingto use gloss black everywhere or should some parts be Matt black? Cheers Greg

Hi all, I am just about to paint the engine and I am wondering do you paint the crankcase breather and the oil cap on the rocker cover black or grey as I have seen them painted in both colors. I am trying to make it as original as possible. Cheers Greg
