1  General / General Board / Re: 138 rocker gear on: September 26, 2017, 11:40:26 AM
cheers Rob, muchly appreciated. I will indeed do as you have suggested,i wasn't sure of all the oil leaking out the nut as it seems a waste to not send it threw the rocker shaft but i am sure i can find a self tapper, cheers.

Hi all,i got the old 138 running on sunday but it was sounding dry and sqeeky ,i removed the rocker cover and ran it too find not much oil on the shaft or rockers but oil was pooring out near the feed pipe ,i assume it shouldn't do that. Does anyone know this fault,is there a seal or o'rings or is the adaptor the oil pipe screws in to faulty. Some advise would be helpful, cheers

Hi all,we have hit a milestone with old rusty, after 40 plus years out in a paddock under an awning it has started and even went for a spin (up the driveway 🖒) it stillruns. All the bushes are now been replaced front and rear ,handbrakes a goer too.Next on the list is too get him running on 6 not 4 cylinders and find a sqeeking noise in the top end, sounds like the rocker gear getting dry, must be some issue in the rocker gear losing oil to the shaft or something like that.

Thanks,i will post more pics this weekend and see what progress i make,i was aiming to start it and possibly drive it for the first time, but after 40 plus years of being parked under an awning it may not be that easy we will see.

Hi All

I recently purchased this all original never been hit ,bogged or modified fe special.I was after a car that looks like a garden ornament but run and drives fine and i think this is it.I have no intentions of restoring it just bring it back too life with as little replacement as possible.I am replacing all rubber and hydraulic parts for reliability and safety.I will do as little rust repairs need to make road worthy so just structual (which is very little) and enjoy.
I will post more pics as i go,cheers
