41  For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: FC Horn Cap on: January 20, 2006, 07:44:48 AM
Hi Les,
I think, if it's on a comparable level of quality as that of the rear tail badge, $125.00 sounds like a very good price.
I guess I would also have to see the test sample after it had been left to bake in the sun for a while to see how the modern paint reacts!! But then again even the original ones faded  Roll Eyes and that is what has brought us here.........

p.s.. bugger..... does this mean the value of my NOS horn button has dropped significantly??   Grin

Just a little update on this wagon,
It was bought new in Chiltern, NE Vic. It only changed hands once and this is where the story starts...A farmer bought it for $50.00 about 12 years ago and while driving it home, it broke down(or so he thought!) After trying everything he finally stripped the heads off it to see if he could fix it(no luck) so he towed it home and took what parts off it for his FJ Ute...They then discoverd it had just run out of petrol...the old dodgy gauge!!!!.
This farmer also has what I'm told is a yellow FC(taxi?) in his  shed for 20 years! I am working on it....... Grin

The car has since been stored in his shed until two years ago when the new owner purchased the FJ, the wagon was a  throw in....(Nice throw in ..eh)
This wagon is for sale but don't attack with me pm's as I will post the owners details as soon as I get word from him.
Nick
P.s Alex, the printing plates take pride of place in his display cabinate and I don't think he would part with them ever. he actually bought them in a box of lead that he was planning to melt down for fishing weights!!!
p.p.s Another little bit of Trivia...the owner was born in an FJ ute...so he is an absolute Holden nut!!  Grin

Great find Blacky, and those words "Not for Sale" are the bain of my existance!! what pisses me off even more is when they won't even let me take a photo  Angry
Thankfully the latter doesn't happen too often  Wink

Keep up the search

Hey Rob,
Welcome to the board, the decoder says they paint and trim don't correspond but that could be just a glich....
Car is described as Two-Tone: Breton Blue over Cabot Grey.
Interior as : Summit Blue & Cosmos Grey sounds like a nice project in the works  Wink

All these are reversed

Is that the price of the ute on the bottom of this one ? 910.00 pounds + tax?

51  For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: Boot Badge Overlay on: December 16, 2005, 01:28:45 AM
Very nice repro indeed...I guess that means I should put my horn button project on hold  :-/
One question regarding the paint...Is it a modern oil based metalic?
Has it been tested over a period of time to check how it reacts in the sun over a long hot summer? ( By this I don't mean fading, just cracking or crazing)
I only ask as I have 4 horn buttons in paint at the moment and I'm just waiting to see how the modern paint goes in the sun :-/
It looks fantastic all the way and it gives new hope to those of us who can't afford $300 odd for NOS badges and buttons !  Tongue

Hey Ace,
Try Greyhound Bus Freight, I've used them heaps in the past without a problem.....
I can't find the number  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes...try directorys  Wink
They deliver to practically anywhere on the bus network...with a 3 to 5 day turnaround....20kg cubic was $34.00 with an additional $5.00 for every kg after that....
not sure if this is cheaper than anything else you have looked at but it was for me.........

Just had another message from this seller...this is what he said.....I thought the whole board should know about this... Wink Grin
"Quote"
I have 2 people that are waiting on me to
finish cataloging my parts from the NSW fc club. Their names are Stewart and
Gary. They were going to do the same thing as you did, let every body know. I
am going to finish cataloging on monday for sure, then I am going to let
Gary and Stewart see what I have and let them have what they want. I am not
going to let them take more than 1 of each of what they want at least until
other people who have asked  get to see what is there. If you live in Sydney
you can come see what is there. If you do know Stewart and Gary I will
arrange it so you can come when they come to look. I knew that when I put
these parts on Ebay, what interest it would create. Nobody in Australia has
most of the part I do. I do not want to sell everything on ebay. If I did I
can see myself typing on this computer all day everyday. I am a 2 finger
typist, and very slow at that. Hope I have answered your questions. Thank
you for posting the link with your club. Have a good one. Perry

PS I have a 4-1/2 ton pantec truck. It took 6 loads to move everything. Then
I had to move 5 fc's and 1 trailer made from an fc van. Just to let you
know. I have plenty

Shocked Shocked Shocked How much stuff is that?

hopefully I will have the list in a few days
