61  General / General Board / Re: Rear speaker accessory for an FE on: October 01, 2020, 09:42:20 AM
Thanks RET, still plenty to learn about these cars as never realized that is why things are a bit different between early and late production cars. Al
62  General / General Board / Re: Rear speaker accessory for an FE on: September 30, 2020, 09:58:55 AM
Thanks for your your responses, seems to have cleared it up for me. I am restoring an early FE and the rear parcel shelf is a bit different to the later wreck i have on hand. Early shelf is dead flat all the way across, later one has strengthening ribs pressed into it but not sure if it has the cut out for the rear speaker or not as pretty rusty there.

63  General / General Board / Rear speaker accessory for an FE on: September 24, 2020, 10:12:01 AM
G'day,

just to clarify something; was the rear speaker available as an accessory for FE's? Not in the NASCO brochure but I have seen a could of pics of them fitted. Possible fitted later on when it was offered for later models? Thanks, Al
64  General / General Board / Re: FE FC heater switch on: September 17, 2020, 11:00:02 AM
G'day again,

Ken, the photo you supplied of the heater switch fitted to the dash; what is the other round feature below it - Handbrake warning light? I have recently found another image of a heater switch fitted in the same position with the same round feature above it. thanks. Al
65  General / General Board / More numbers for Ken on: September 15, 2020, 10:27:31 AM
G'day Ken,

I visited a few wrecks last week that I have picked over before but also followed up on a few more I have been meaning to look at for a while; got a few more ID plates for you.

FE-225-23825A
Trim: 212-473
Paint: 253-7699
RPO: 7698

FC-225-17560M
Trim: 297-637
Paint: 256-2031
RPO: 253-9665

There is an FC wagon there as well but i cant make out the numbers in the photo I took of the ID plate so will get those to you when i pick the wreck up next week. Both FC's have been cut down for Spot Lighting vehicles so no roofs and have been burnt out which is a shame. All the trim is still on them as well as running gear so will retrieve the wagon and strip the sedan where it stands. the FC sedan has a motel (camper) seat in it so will salvage the mech from that. I would post a few photos but a bit difficult.

Thanks Ken, yes the diagram will do the job. Al
67  General / General Board / Re: FE FC heater switch on: September 01, 2020, 09:29:37 AM
Back again,

Could somebody (Ken??) post some pics of where the warmaride heater mounts to the firewall for me; I am in the process of filling holes and getting everything ready for primer and would like to drill required holes for mounting the heater when the time comes. Pictures from inside the cabin and from the other side in the engine bay would be grouse. thanks, Al
68  General / General Board / Re: FE FC heater switch on: August 20, 2020, 10:03:21 AM
Thanks a heap Ken, you have made life a lot easier when the time comes to fit the heater into my resto. Al
69  General / General Board / Re: FE FC heater switch on: August 18, 2020, 09:42:37 AM
Thanks Ken,

So that is original fitment for a new vehicle, I assumed the switch was mounted under the dash somewhere and not up near the instrument cluster like that. Any pics of the firewall and where the actual heater unit is mounted? thanks. Al
70  General / General Board / FE FC heater switch on: August 13, 2020, 10:00:45 AM
G'day, could somebody supply me with a photo of the correct switch that would have been supplied / fitted with a NASCO warmaride heater (round type with doors on the front). Also, if anyone has an original fitment could I have some photos of engine connections (on the thermostat housing) and firewall, thanks. Al
71  General / General Board / Re: Fe Fc sedan venetian - different to ute? on: October 31, 2019, 05:15:10 PM
Right oh, thanks Ken. I should have just messaged you eh. Al
72  General / General Board / Fe Fc sedan venetian - different to ute? on: October 31, 2019, 10:22:17 AM
G'day,

I have an original venetian blind out of an FC ute, question is are the blinds different shape / dimensions for sedans? Or are they interchagable? I assume they are different but seems to roughly fit an FE rear glass I have. If somebody can help me out that would be great. Also, I assume FE through to EK utes rear glass was the same so should fit all four models? thanks in advance. Al
73  General / General Board / Fe Fc sun shade - one size fits all? on: March 05, 2019, 10:39:30 AM
Quick question, are FE FC NASCO external sun shades/visors the same for sedans and commercials? I know they are different for FB Ek, same story for FE FC?? Al
74  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Wilsonia repro glass on: September 05, 2016, 09:20:27 AM
Yeh right, I thought that was fortuitous when i saw the repro glass pop up o eBay a day after I posted; is that the Phil you mention that is the seller? Just glad they are available as I am trying to bring back a gauge from the dead and it will make the job a lot easier. thanks for your help. Al
75  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Wilsonia repro glass on: September 01, 2016, 11:14:03 AM
G'day all,

I am after a repro glass for a Wilsonia gauge and see through old posts that they were once available. I have been in contact with Ken and he does not have any left. I am hoping somebody still has a few or decals at least or can point me in the right direction. thanks in advance. Al
76  General / General Board / Tilli Detroit kit instructions for an FE on: August 24, 2016, 04:44:50 PM
G'day all,

Would someone be able to furnish me with a digital copy of the installation instructions that would have come with a Detroit trim kit from Tilli industries for an FE? I have had a bit of a snoop around and can't find it in any old posts, thanks.

77  Technical Board / General Technical / FE + FC ignition swich illumination accessory on: March 18, 2016, 02:56:08 PM
G'day,

I have done a fair bit of lurking on the net and the forum to find out a bit about the ignition switch illumination option. It is probably in the accessory of week which I don't have access to; does anyone have a photo or two of what it looks like and any other information to post up, thanks.

78  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: taxi switch on: February 18, 2016, 10:32:11 AM
The switch you have a photo of Ken is also used in GM cars of the 40's. I have another '46 Buick wreck with this switch on it so there are a couple of types that were used. If anyone wants one of those switches (either type) look for a 1946-47-48 Buick, Chev or Pontiac wreck.

79  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: taxi switch on: February 16, 2016, 05:01:25 PM
I have a '46 Buick sedan which has the same switch on the pillar behind the driver with no switch on the actual light on the roof. Probably the same switch used on all GM cars of the late 40's I reckon. Al
80  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: FE FC high note horn and recent wreck find on: December 30, 2015, 03:47:49 PM
G'day, I assume it to be 12v as Mcgyver'd onto a FB but have not tested it. the wiring is none original as somebody has rewired and possibly put another mount on it when fitting it to the FB so don't really know what the story is. It definitely has a "H" cast into the housing which I have not seen on a lot of other twin horn sets for other makes and models so leads me to believe it was an accessory horn for something. Thanks for your help. Al
