( will seat securing mounts line up fj 》fe )   ?

8  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Early fe grey motor. 132 or 138? on: April 19, 2020, 07:39:53 PM

Gonna get a photo up here of the mesh /cone/flange thingamebob as soon as i can get the young fella away from his girlfriend.
Should be very interesting  to get some feed-back.  This part definitely came from carby/manifold position. Car was completely  original.
Still has original  thermostat & is still sitting on original Olympic Air Ride tyers ( still hold air) with a top-up every few months.& brake & clutch tins.
It was on the road for 1 year back in 1995.took out original  motor & run another grey motor i had out of fe ute. ( hot with twin stromies )
Swapped back to ute & sold.   So van has original motor back in. Only non original  i had 2 do was exhaust & rear shocks.
Also put the original red interior in ute when i sold it.  DUMBASS. Ute looked good though, with my own mix of a SKY BLUE with the red interior.
Oh...Tasman mags to. Wish istill had that car.   Still got the Tasman mags though  Bonus.
By the way,  between u & me, van might b 4 sale 4 $1000000 obo.    Back to topic question, can u tell motor is 132 or 138 by engine numbers? Thanks
10  Technical Board / General Technical / Early fe grey motor. 132 or 138? on: April 03, 2020, 10:30:05 PM
But here is what i really want 2 know: long time ago removed , now getting assembled  again, here's my question :
At carby & manifold, there is a flange /cone shaped part with fine metal gauze in it (does anyone know  this part)
Does it go between carby & bakerlite spacer or bakerlite spacer & manifold?
This is out of an an molested  &totally  original motor. This part isn't mentioned or shown in original holdenFE workshop manual.
I gather it must b 2 atomize petrol b 4 it hits the manifold?
Have talked 2 a few "knowledgeable "guys & they look at me like i'm on drugs.
KEN: going by ur knowledge on this forum, any ideas?
11  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Oil bath air cleaner re-fill capacity, spec. on: April 03, 2020, 10:02:00 PM
Bit late 2 add 2 this but all oil bath aircleaners are stamed inside to what oil level is.
HOLDEN WORKSHOP MANUAL states  SAE 50 Engine or SAE90 straight mineral oil.
Just remember  that these cars were mainly  driven on dirt roads.
These days on bitumen , u could run sump oil if u had to. NO BIGGIE.
12  General / General Board / Re: Where have all the images of fe panelvans gone on: March 16, 2020, 09:40:36 PM
Thanks to RET for all that trivia on the FE's.   and to custonFC ....what tha..is that custom van got HD front panels (all modified of course)& is the rear HG ass end?
Very...very unusual, but a lot of skill invoved into that creation. also looks like a black sheperd hiding in the background of that photo with dogs in car.Got one of them
myself.&a white sheperd.&a bullterrier.&2 CHI's (missus dogs). Gotta get the young fella to put some flicks up of my van, i'm not that computer  literate to get them up
so when we i pull it out of back shed i will post them here.its coverd up by THINGS& DUST. (last rego'd in 1995)off the road ever since but kept clean fuelled up &running.
Starting new project...Fe ute shell on one tonner chassis (probably 5 year project) Hay ,whose in a hurry.may just end up drag car depending on compliancing here in QLD

A big block in any ol' holden surely is a massve undertaking. Can only imagine the man hours that had to go into that.
So no crash box in that one. But as for JB's photo, that is just a piece of art.hours & hours+days, weeks or even years into that beast.
Everything about that is PERFECT.What a weapon. I'm sure we would all luv 2 c more images of that one. Thanx JB.
I think that makes #13 FE VANS.      BRINGUMON.
14  General / General Board / Re: Where have all the images of fe panelvans gone on: March 08, 2020, 08:35:38 PM
Wow ,didnt expect this. Thanx guyz. Thanx to Stewy& custum FC & Zulu for your flicks.
Zulu, is that a stationwagen with rear doors welded or is that how they came out.
Either way looks cool...unusual.
Noticed some had no front parker lenses. (These must be early make models?) &
one with ol oil bath air cleaner.
Now we are up to about #11 photos of FE VANS on the googlenet.
Anymore out there or is that it.
PLEASE SIR, CAN I HAVE MORE...
15  General / General Board / Re: Where have all the images of fe panelvans gone on: March 06, 2020, 08:36:50 PM

Can anyone else out there in intergoogle land put more FE VAN pictures up.
Thanx once again to custumFE for that photo.  #1

I have looked over the net for images of fe panelvans. Think i found 4. Heaps of fj/fc/ek/fb/eh etc. Vans.
Why arn't their many fe's. Is it because they r the rarest of holden panelvans???
17  General / General Board / Where have all the images of fe panelvans gone on: March 04, 2020, 09:34:38 PM
