Well here she is finished and registered ..( sun visor yet to be ready ) ..2 years 7 months 18 days from purchase to rego. She has done about 80 kms on road so far so good..Firstly a big thank you to all the club members who have given advice ,assistance ,parts and encouragement.
It certainly is a unique feeling ,hard to explain, nostalgia, pride ,having something special ( excuse pun ),satisfaction ,having something not only enthusiasts love and cherish ,but the Australian public at large do also ,everyone knows what a Holden is ..Thanks again see you on the next club run ...Vern .

I speculate they are from obriens p

Yes, I believe they are the only manufacturer. They supply RS & other outlets.
I bought one from them direct & it's a quality item.
Postage from SA wasn't a problem & it arrived safely in appropriate packing.

Nice job around the bumper mount Rob.
The headlight peak has a lot of history! Good to see it will all be replaced by someone dedicated to produce quality work. Looking forward to see what you come up with protect the peak from filling in future. I have thought about fitting a shaped mud flap to let the moisture & grim slide down the inner guard instead of forcing itself into the peak. That's a far as it's gone so far though.
28  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: seat mounting bracket spacers on: May 09, 2020, 03:05:09 PM
I used a crumbling plastic one as a template to make some from a poly??? bread board. I needed a couple of layers glued together to make up the height so stacked 8 pieces, drilled & bolted them together before cutting out to shape. It was a little time consuming but worth the effort I thought. Had they been available from Pete back them I may have opted to save myself the time. His products are very good.

Update from Vern 23 Apr 2020

some images of the conversion of oil bath air cleaner to paper element type ..firstly cut the top cover off the wire mesh holder 12mm from underside of top cover ,cut a solid circle of metal sheet just a tad more than the cut frame ,drill a centred hole for wing nut post ,weld the cut lid to underside of top ..If all happy at this point then go ahead and order Ryco A92 air filter element ,fits nicely in oil pan in base  ,then a piece of tube about 1/2” id , cut a cross slot 10mm deep to fit over the cross brace in base of cleaner body, cut to length, weld on flat washer to keep top level, to achieve overall length to allow just a bit of crush on filter cut slot further in the spacer tube..

34  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / FC van wreck Bendigo - Post Office Red on: April 21, 2020, 04:22:49 PM
Question from Tom ................... see below - two photos from years ago of some wrecks that were in Bendigo Vic.

With the lockdown I have been organising my mess of photos and realised that this FC van wreck is actually a Royal Mail Van (the description I found when trying to research its ID plate.
Now that I am looking closer there is Post Office Red paint remnants in the subframe and ID plate.
My real question is about the code. It is FC2104SIO-7218-A
Stamped exactly like that. I am curious as to the SIO part?
Anyway, I hope you might post these in the forum and enquire if Ken has these numbers in his list.
Appreciated,
Tom

A few of you may remember the 'just married' sign I found in the boot (17/717).
I got it framed and gave to my Grandparents for Xmas a year ago 👍🏻.

I remember. Great to see it here again with your grandparents.

It's certainly not where I thought it could have been then. Maybe I've seen it here before. It's just like the shed & the van my father had many years ago in central NSW.
39  General / General Board / Re: Where have all the images of fe panelvans gone on: March 12, 2020, 10:36:53 AM

Before and after. The van got some use too, the dogs loved it!
Sold it to Glenn and he won't sell it back so have to do another one.

JB, where was the before shot taken? It looks very familiar. Dave.
