41  Galleries / Members' Completed FE-FC Projects / Image Gallery on: October 04, 2015, 08:24:35 AM
Hi All
This is probably already available on the club site, but just wondering for the guys out there like me who are just plodding along learning while enjoying themselves with the restoring of one of these magnificent FC's, to be able to refer to the 100's of pictures and images already on the site in one file. Do not have to be in any order, but if for example I am working on a engine bay I can browse through and see what other people have done etc. Without having to go file by file working through the text and seeing what is relevant.
If I can already do this please someone direct me to it otherwise all have a good long weekend.
Cowboys to win

hi Martyn
Another good idea, thanks for your input.
As far as the speed of my build is concerned it is based on the availability of spare cash ( I am retired ) at the time, family commitments, house and maintenance duties, the mates at the pub, sport "watching" etc. therefore I have made mates with the snails in my shed their keeping up with me  Grin Grin
Taking my time and loving every minute of it, when I can I am down the shed from morning to dusk and I feel like I am in heaven, radio blasting hands dirty and as a bonus WIFE VERY SUPPORTIVE Smiley Smiley Smiley

46  Technical Board / Restoration Help / rotisserie help on: September 18, 2015, 12:43:27 PM
I have a friend who is going to build me a rotisserie for my FC Wagon, he has asked me where the best place to secure it to the car at the front and rear that would give me the best balance and stability, without covering up to much of the area that I would want to work on.
Instead of reinventing the wheel, can the experts on the forum please help.
A measurement from the centre pivot and the secure point would be a bonus, if someone has it
Thanks in advance
Regards
rick

I am restoring a wagon, have stripped it to bear metal, very little to no rust at all on it and straight as, panels. Have taken photos and video etc on strip down to ensure how it all goes back together, but if I had a complete car to double check beside it would help. Plus I am missing a little trim or bolt here and there so a donor car would be ideal and if it is not to bad I might start another restore

Would prefer anywhere within the NSW borders hopefully, but it would depend on the car and asking price if I have to p/u over the borders. Please send pm "where and how much" thanks rick

Hi
Sorry , I had a PM sent to me re " rust or panel damage" I did mean I did not care if it was a right off and unrestorable, in fact I would not be interested in stripping a restorable classic car it would be a crime. just send me a PM where and how much.
Thanks in advance

54  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: running motor outside of car on: March 22, 2014, 04:20:28 PM
thank you to all for the replies and ideas, will use most of them I am sure. One thing about asking people with experience it eliminates the "ERRORS" from trial and errors. As I have completely rebuilt the motor I want to be able to a couple of times a month start it up and run it for about 10 to 15 mins. What I mean't by tuning is that all the marks etc line up and idles smoothly on the stand, final tuning I will get a mechanic friend to do when motor back in. Once again thanks. rick

Has someone got a simple proven set up to run my grey motor outside the car for testing, tuning and running in. Wiring, fuel etc. It will be about another 12 mths b4 I will be putting it back into the car. Instead of me developing something from scratch I am sure that there are many simple set ups out there.
Thanks in advance

thanks guys for your input, the problem I came across was that 1 1/4in was not a standard size anymore and they would not break into packs or separately order from supplier ( or just not interested in the stores around here to help).
Problem now solved 2 companies could not do enough and could supply separately in case any one else has this problem

Now back to the car!
