9  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Restoration Help on: December 12, 2022, 06:52:37 PM
Thanks for your support and offers to help, just don't want to be a pain.
There is now no rust (100% rust free), no dents or any body work to do, had the motor bottom end completed by local old master mechanics, just need the head restored and updated at a later date.
But now i need to start fitting the front frame assy  ( what size bolts? ) i know i have the correct ones but markings are gone.
Once again your support and help is very much welcomed
regards
Rick

Hi All
I have a FC wagon and about to get back into a rebuild after some time off (about 4yrs) due to ill health. Although i took care in labeling, taking pics etc, time has played havoc on texta marking fading as well as memory fade
I have Workshop Manuals
Spare parts catalogues
Some pics, so the question is, apart from doing searches on this FC informative site on each individual area I get stuck on, are there any other tips books or manuals that can help me with reassembling
Looking forward to suggestions
Regards
Rick

15  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: underbody paint on: June 16, 2021, 07:38:26 PM
Thanks Ken

I guess that answer was coming my way, I just needed confirmation. A couple of years ago I saw a FC Sedan that was original with a second owner that has not been touched, when i had a look underneath it had a heavy coating of a tar based sound deadening paint which looked fantastic. He said that GMH did that on many FC's. I think it was a after market job not by GMH, but was not in a position to dispute.

Just wanted to make sure as it did look good.

16  Technical Board / Restoration Help / underbody paint on: June 16, 2021, 08:24:16 AM
Hi All
I have a FC Wagon that i have neglected for a couple of years due to personal reasons and now want to get back and finish the project while I can. There is zero rust anywhere on the body now and panels are straight as. So it's put back together time. As I am learning as I go there will be a lot of questions for experts out there.
Firstly what is the standard and best to spray underbody, differential and front end to keep it as stock as possible.

Thank you in advance

P.S I am looking for front and rear seats if anybody has to sell ( black and Red ) I live in central NSW
Regards
Rick

Hi Ret
I am away at the moment and will be back home on Tuesday and will bring the spare manual out again and work through your explanation.
2x things here 1. I feel so much better on why I could not understand how to use the manual
2. if I can get a hang of it, it will be yet another reference tool to make my joy of restoration easier.
Thanks for the time and effort to go to the trouble of your explanation for me and any other person out there like me that did not know

Happy Easter to you and family and to all members of a very informative and helpful club

Regards
Rick Jen

Yes this is the book I have, I thought it was me that was not smart enough and missing something here. But it must have been used somewhere at the time of no computers to just punch in a item number etc. you need info on
Must be someone out there that knows?

Yes it is the 20 year one 758 pages long which I have trouble using with so many models in it.
I saw one on Ebay with just FX - FC spare parts cat. which I thought is the one I need but it was a book not CD for $250 plus postage
