G'day Cam,
28 day target is not going to happen... House is now sold, new place is organised, settlement will be mid July, now to start packing the house up.
Waiting on a panel beater/painter to come and have a look at the car and hopefully that will happen this weekend. Got an electrics issue at the moment. Was looking for the reason for no indicators working and I think I have tripped the security system - got nothing at all when I turn the key. Hopefully the auto sparky will call over soon and perform his black magic.
What I did with my dash was graft new electronic gauges into the old instrument housings and a VL speedo assembly behind the FC dial and glass.
Will give you a yell if I need an extra pair of hands....
Cheers, Graeme

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Rear fin extensions

Rear fins definitely need to be filed down a bit, just wasn't sure on the extensions. Looks like I hit the garage and make something up to fit for the extensions to the body, screw in bit for the door there at least....

Gday all,
Am considering fitting fins and the fin extensions to my sedan. Did the extensions have clips or similar to attach them to the car or is double sided trim tape and/or Sikaflex ok to use?
Cheers, Graeme

Not much happening at the moment, spent most of my time getting the house ready for sale. Luckily it sold on the first day of internet advertising so now I can get back into the car....
I got the air con to fit properly up under the dash. Turns out it is a complete Vintage Air Gen II Compac system, compressor, dryer, everything.
Don't happen to know a panel beater who would do the clean up on the doors, etc do you?

G'day Neil, The car was built in WA by a fella in Bunbury and was engineered and registered there in 2011. How it got to Townsville I have no idea. Fred advertised the car on ebay but at the time I couldn't afford it. Long story short, I got made redundant at work used a bit of my payout to buy the car (with the wife's approval of course). I knew the bloke in Townsville that had the car so I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped to Melbourne and I drove it back from there to Ballarat. The motor is a stock Ecotech V6 with a 4L60E auto and shortened VS diff. VS rack and pinion steering to a beefed up HR front end with HQ stubs. I wont win any prizes for best engine bay, but for now it will do. Car goes very well, handles very well and apart from a few things needed for rwc and rego here, little money to spend Cheers, Graeme

G'day all, I need to replace the monstrosity that is the air con in my sedan and would like any feedback on these three (or any others that are available): Vintage Air VA66005-VUZ-A Gen II Mini Cooler Heat / Cool / Defrost Kit Vintage Air VA11300-VUZ-A Slim line Under Dash Heat, Cool, Defrost System Under Dash Evaporator/Heater Assembly 12V Conceal unit No30 The last one is around $300, the dearest is the top one at around $750. Not fussed about the units being under dash or hidden... Cheers, Graeme

G'day Josh, Not sure on the bumpers yet but think I will go back to chrome. V6 goes very well so I will leave it as is for the time being..... You are right about the no caps looking better than those wheel trims - I can't even give them away lol. Got a few changes in mind but for now I will just get it ready for rego and enjoy driving it Cheers, Graeme

G'day Neil, Thanks mate, will get some more details up here when I get organised. Been reading through the WA engineering report, very detailed and very good. I drove it back from Melbourne on Thursday and it ran really well, the V6 has plenty of get up and go, sits on the road well, non-power rack will take a bit of getting used to again tho. Will get some details and more photo's up as I start doing the clean up Cheers, Graeme
