I use VN VP tanks as they’re metal and easy to move filler neck etc I believe the later ones were plastic.
I use them as Clay says because of the V6s that I have fitted and I can use the standard in tank fuel pump makes parts cheaper. Even with these tanks you have to put the exhaust up and over the diff and in between the spring and body to keep it away from the side of the tank.
I probably have some photos if anybody was interested 😜

Hi Rod
Yes the Dye Crack checking sprays are quite good we use them on our Diesel engine stuff and large turbo charger turbines however the results you get can be a bit open to interpretation if you really want a definite yes or no the Magnetic Particle crack checking is the way to go.
Good luck with the engine rebuild.

Hi mate you can buy Dye penetrant crack detecting sprays ones we use in my workshop are 4 part (4 different spray cans) just follow the directions and they are pretty simple to use.

Hi I have some FC parts I no longer need
a front bench seat (red and white) was reupholstered but has small damage on passenger side top
Bonnet
Blue back seat
a couple of radiator supports
a commercial painted grill and backing frame, great for chroming as has never been
a pair of FC commercial front blinker surrounds, same deal as the grill
a number of bumperettes in varying condition

there are probably some other bits and pieces I have forgotten
I'm in WA give me a call to discuss prices I'm negotiable  Grin

Hi Pete great to see you getting a bit done on your ute, the build on your ute was part of the inspiration for the build of my EK Ute great work as always.
Love the fuel tank mate, what is the capacity and would you manufacture for sale if requested, I'm building an FB wagon now and need a tank 😜😂😂

31  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / Re: Wanted FC-FE survivor on: January 23, 2022, 11:10:05 AM
I think you are looking for a unicorn mate, these cars are over 60 years old and you are not going to find one in perfect condition for the money you are talking, there's been plenty in your price range that you have been told about that would have made great daily drivers.

There is a red FC for sale over here in WA asking $20K looks pretty good.
Have a look on Gumtree WA says it has a recon grey in it.

Hi Laszlo
You should be able to move the shifter forward its cable operated isn't it, I have a B&M in my EK Ute (I'd post a photo but its too hard) and didn't modify the bench seat as Clay said not much movement of the bench in a Ute.
I have an FC bench seat but I'm in WA it is covered but has a hole in the top of the passenger side back thanks to one of my dogs when he was young (almost didn't make it to his next birthday) however it wouldn't be $100  Roll Eyes

Give me a PM if you can't find one closer and I could send some photos via email mate.

I would give Warbatons a call in Vic I believe they are good to deal with and maybe even with freight hopefully they would be cheaper than that rip off.
38  General / General Board / Re: 1958 Holden FC Station Sedan on: April 30, 2021, 01:53:53 PM
I wouldn't deal with him he buys parts cheap from people and then triples the price but I suppose if you don't have it and want it well I guess there is not much choice.
