Chassis number is only on the subframe, you can cange them over but you will need a receipt with the new number on it. To remove the gear lever you need to take the rubber cover off and knock out the retaining pin, that will allow you to pull the lever out. Regards Jim

Thanks for your comments guys, the good thing about being in the trade is I can get some really good advice on how to go about doing it right. Pete, as for the floor pan I was lucky enough to get hold of that a set of door skins (although Ifound out later that I had three rear skins and one front) and a pair of w/screen rubbers all nos. again helps to be in the trade, you can be lucky from time to time. Regards Jim

Yep, left the original holes and positioned them low mine are FB units which have a long rubber tube so I can run the speaker wires through them. How did you go with the spare wheel door or have'nt you got that far? Regards Jim

Wayne, I've done the same with mine, I have been told that if I spray stone guard or similar inside the pod, it will help contain the sound. Another bloke told me to use dyna mat or similar sound deadening matting. Regards Jim

Progress update. I've been chipping away at the underside of the floor to remove as much tar paint as I can, whick has now shown that there is more rust around than first thought. With this in mind I am now looking at doing the front & rear pans. I have been able to aquire a nos full front floor pan (firewall to 'b' pillar & sill to sill),which will be wrapped in cotton wool until I'm ready to install it. Unless somebody knows where I can lay my hands on a rear pan, rust repair sections will be used. I'll take some more photos and post them shortly
