For Sale:  FC Station Sedan.  Owned by Local Mechanic and always garaged.  Apply Maree, Outback South Australia.

Photo taken 1998.  'Right in the middle of town'.  There used to be a Wayne petrol pump out the front in about the same condition as the rest of the establishment, but I think it has disappeared now.

624  General / General Board / Re: Owner Handbooks on: September 15, 2003, 10:31:27 PM
Thanks mate.  Now I'm clear.  I'll keep an eye out on ebay etc for a RED cover.
625  General / General Board / Owner Handbooks on: September 15, 2003, 10:22:30 PM
Can anyone tell me (or post a picture here) what an FE Owners Handbook/Manual looks like?  I think I've seen a few FC ones.  They are yellow and stand 'upright' rather than the 'longer' more conventional owners handbook.  Am I right?

I seem to recall a red covered handbook.  Would that be FE?

Any help or pictures to explain to me would be appreciated.

Cheers, Shayne.
626  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: NOS gear select knob with silver insert on: September 14, 2003, 05:59:12 PM
Slim,
I see you bid to $38, I bid to $36.  These figures are about what I'd have expected to pay.  I guess if you want good NOS in the box bad enough!

Shayne.
627  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: NOS gear select knob with silver insert on: September 14, 2003, 05:55:20 PM
The winning bid was $122.00

Sounds like a lot to me.  What would a good second hand one with the silver end intact be worth? (if you could find one)?
628  General / General Board / Re: FE Horn Ring? on: September 14, 2003, 03:58:43 AM
I'd be interested in buying it.  When you know the value, deduct 25% and give me a call!

Seriously, I'd be interested if you wanted to sell.

Cheers, Shayne.

I'm fairly sure a Radio Disc Jockey had this car up in Cairns or Townsville about 2 years ago.

Here's a sedan on ebay.  Might be useful for someone.

631  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: FJ wheels on: September 09, 2003, 11:34:27 PM
Are you still chasing the wheels?  I can probably help.  I'm in Qld, but you could probably freight them if you can't find a set closer to home.
I don't have any hubcaps for sale, but I've got about 10 rims, so I could sell you four or five if you want.
Regards, Shayne.
632  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: 3 speed column shift repairs on: September 09, 2003, 11:23:06 PM
Thanks for the info Ken.  I've sent you a message, I'm interested in the bits & pieces.
633  Technical Board / Restoration Help / 3 speed column shift repairs on: September 01, 2003, 04:41:32 AM
What do I need to do to replace the floor shift in my FE sedan with the original column change?

I have the column 'collar' and gear lever, but no linkages.  Would the shift have been changed to the floor because these were worn out?  Are the linkages still available?

634  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Oil Filter Cartridges for Grey Motor on: September 01, 2003, 04:34:50 AM
The grey motor in my newly acquired FE has an external oil filter fitted.  The canister is/was orange in colour.  Any ideas as to make or brand name?

The oil probably hasn't been changed for a while, so I'd like to get a replacement cartridge.  Any clues as to the number?  I guess I should open the canister & see what I find.  There is an old paper element filter in the boot of the car with 'Holden Oil Filter' written on it, but I think it's been sitting in the dust a bit too long to use.
635  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Rear Bumper Over-riders on: September 01, 2003, 04:27:45 AM
One of the rear bumper over-riders on my newly acquired FE sedan is rusted right through.  If possible I'd like to get a replacement 1 (or 2).  Any ideas?

I'm learning ALL the time!  You people probably knew that the front & rear overriders are the same!  I thought I knew a bit about early holdens, but you only really know about the model/s you deal with for a L- O- N- G time!  I'm only new to this FE-FC caper.
636  Galleries / Members' FEs and FCs / Re: Blue FE Special Sedan on: September 01, 2003, 04:24:47 AM
No Gary, but it's amazing how many old cars & bikes etc end up in the back of aircraft hangars.  I've probably given away my best secret to a bunch of other car buffs, but you never know what you'll find at aerodromes around the countryside.
637  Galleries / Members' FEs and FCs / Blue FE Special Sedan on: September 01, 2003, 04:15:07 AM
While searching for a wagon, I found a blue FE Special Sedan in a shed outside Toowoomba.  I thought it was too good to leave there, so I brought it home.  All original with an L series engine.  The only mods I can see are gearbox floorshift and carpet.

The brakes are worn out from sitting around, and there is a small hole somewhere in the exhaust system.  The top of the back seat and parcel shelf are sun damaged, but repairable.

I plan to fix these few things and get the vehicle on club rego soon.

By the way, I'm still looking for a wagon as an everyday driver.  (see my post in Cars Wanted).

638  Galleries / Original Advertisements, Brochures / Re: Stack & Co......FC on: August 26, 2003, 09:06:54 PM
My FJ Sedan has a 'Stack' badge below the boot handle.  You don't see too many up this way in Qld, but I guess they aren't that rare.  They certainly last a lot longer than the dealers rear window stickers of today!
639  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Station Sedan on: August 26, 2003, 08:11:58 PM
I would like to know more.  Any contact details you have would be appreciated if the wagon is still for sale.
640  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / Station Sedan (Wagon) FE,FC,FB,EK on: August 21, 2003, 04:29:59 AM
New member to Forum (me) chasing a daily driver wagon for my wife.  Prefer grey motor & 3 speed manual.  Close to original interior (no belts).  Ideally the car will have Queensland Rego & Roadworthy.  Prepared to look in other states.  I live in St George in Qld, but will travel anywhere to inspect the right vehicle.  Pay up to $6000 for the right car.

My phone number is 0418 872 224, or contact via forum.

Thanks Jim from Qld for the email last week.

This is a great forum.  I'm impressed.  I have previously been an FJ fan, but am broadening my horizons.
