it will drive ok if i keep modulating the throttle. Trying to make/fine a throttle body with injector that i can adapt, I hate carbs and as i make my own EFI computers i think its going to be the best way.
I was going to try boring out the centre of a standard carb body and mount injector/s inside the oil bath air cleaner spraying down the throat so it still looks standard, still working on that idea.

I found another grey motor carb today, stripped it down , cleaned it up and fitted it to the car. Same problem still, i can't work it out.
also checked the advance, all with in spec.

when reving its fine, but pull on some throttle, you can see the fuel coming out down the throat of the carb, but as you hold it the throttle the revs slowly die down the fuel just stops flowing out and it stalls.

ok, yes it did make it worse, i never thought of it that way.
I do have a external adjustable jet here that i was going to fit, maybe i will and try it out.

Thank you.

I did have a 058 in it and changed it to a 051 but didn't change the surging, but ran much better in other areas and the long jet in the middle. the carb was of a 202 and i changed the base.
Ive just bought a remanufactured one, see if that fixes it.

Took the car for its first real drive, broke a new speedo cable, think the speedo locked up some how and the gearbox has a hole in the side of it, Just a little hole enough for the oil to leak out when it warms up.
Carby need work as at cruise is surges badly.
Put in one of those ebay electronic ignitions to replace the points, made a big difference.
Also cut 1 1/4 coils off the front springs.

Took the wife with me on the drive, She hates it, to noisy and jerky and said she's not coming with me if i have to take it on a long drive   Cry

Drives horrible. Front springs too stiff and high, brakes shudder bad, second gear very noisy.
so i have a few things to fix.

I've got one of the sandblasters too, Didn't know about the vacuum either. I had trouble seeing what was in the blaster as it got real dusty in there on the screen.
Ill try that now, should make life easier.

its ok paint, but i need to block it back and buff again, but im happy to leave it for the moment as over the years it will get better as it gets buffed.
it acrylic as said before, but as it was my first paint job so i put 3 thick coats of  clear so i had plenty of paint to block back if it was to orange peel and i wanted plenty of shine.

I have found that it does seem to chip easier, I have a lot of chips where ive only just bumped it.
when i paint my FJ I will use 2k and see how I go. then I may repaint the fc.

I used acrylic paint. this was my first car that I've fully painted, I made a lot of mistakes along the way but acrylic is easy to fix.
