Just wondering, has anybody on here tried one of these?

Would love to know if they are any good before I fork out for one.
Cheers, Matt.

Hey Oggz, the best way to learn is to have a go. This is only the second car I've ever painted, the best thing about the first one was learning all the things NOT to do next time!
Anyway, another update, laid down another 2 coats on the weekend, different gun, coming out MUCH better. Even got a bit of gloss of the gun!

Might put on another coat or 2 next weekend and that should be enough I reckon. Then to start putting her back together again. With the cooler weather, I might wait a couple of months before breaking out the buff.
Cheers, Matt.

Gotta love the high Aussie dollar! Scored the exact same harness as the airide one direct from the US for $157.00. Even with the $85.00 postage it's still a bargain.

Finished rubbing down the primer, ready for topcoat. Now to start masking up, AGAIN, only thing that p*sses me off more than rubbing!

Thanks heaps for the info! I think I'm gonna lean toward the universal one purely for the cost factor. If i stuff it up, I can always get a pro out to fix it! Anyway, I've always thought that the best way to learn about something is to have a go.

Thanks Fellas! Had a day off today, but tommorrow I start bloody rubbing it down AGAIN, ready for top coat which I hope to get done in the next 2-3 days. More pics when it's done.

Cheers fellas, I can't see a link Zulu, but I'm assuming that you're talking about these guys? http://www.vinwire.com.au/gh_list.htm
If so, yes I have been checking them out but I'm not too fussed about originality.
Stinky, I know this is under $400, but would this be OK? Been looking for a while, and they all seem to be the same, just the number of circuits change.

I'm more than willing to give it a shot, I'm just worried about making a complete balls-up of it!
52  Technical Board / General Technical / Auto Sparkies in SA on: April 23, 2011, 01:22:31 PM
Hi all, the wiring on my ute is in a bit a mess at the moment, and electrics in general is just one thing I can't get my head around anyway. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good sparkie in Adelaide somewhere who could point me in the right direction. I was thinking of buying a whole new loom but a mate thinks that might be a bit of overkill.
 Thanks, Matt.

Another update; After about a week of rubbing,(my arms are just about knackered!), finally got primer on and painted inside doors etc. Colour is going to be India Ivory.

54  Technical Board / General Technical / Nasco Radiator on: April 09, 2011, 12:19:10 PM
I'm looking at getting a radiator reconditioned for my ute, and , as I've got 2 radiators here I need to decide which one. They are both identical except one has nothing written on it at all and the other one has a Nasco badge. Is one better than the other or are they just the same?
 Cheers, Matt.

Shocked Shocked That's awesome! I just hope I can get a similar result when I fire mine up.
56  Galleries / Other Images / Re: FE/FC under construction at Fast lane Speed Shop on: April 02, 2011, 10:48:24 PM
There's another pic of it on the Fastlane Speedshop Gallery, the colour appears to be slightly "creamier" in that photo. I've been comparing it to dozens of old holden pics and I can't decide which colour would be closest!
57  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: tell him he's dreaming. Another ebay special on: March 30, 2011, 06:24:12 PM
There's actually another one on ebay right now sitting at $30. If I didn't already have one I'm pretty sure which one I'd be looking at.

60  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Front Shockers on: March 19, 2011, 09:08:08 PM
Thanks ACE!
Just had a look on the Pedders website and they have them listed so I'm hoping they are still readily available. Has anybody used these or are there better options out there?
Cheers, Matt.
