Hi, I am currently putting my FC Ute back together and I found these in the box of parts but I'm buggered if I can work out where they go! I just know they go somewhere that's completely bloody obvious, but I'm just not seeing it.

Looks like rares might be the go. had a closer look at the letters I have got and they are fairly pitted and ordinary so a brand spankin' new set might just look the business. Stewy, I had every intention of heading down to the last meeting but after a pretty sh*tful day at work and not getting home til about 7, I just wasn't up to driving all the way across town! maybe next month......

Hi, I am missing the 'L' and the 'N' from my bonnet letters. Anybody got any lying around they can sell me? Will consider the full set if that's whats available. Cheers, Matt.

Finally scored a pair of new front shocks for the ute today but when I went to put them in I realised that the lower mounting plates are missing. As Rares dont have them listed on the website, does anyone know if they stock them? Better yet, does anyone here have a pair they don't want and want to sell? Cheers, Matt.

Hi Jim, is your FC the two-tone green one? FCO-058? If it is, you drove past my work the other day, very nice. Sounds good too. I'm thinking of making the trek down for the next meeting as well, my ute hasn't been touched in about 8 months and i'm in desperate need of some inspiration to get things back on track.

Hey Mick, nice pics! Just out of curiosity, how easy is it to get to Sant' Agata Bolognese and the Lamborghini factory from Bologna? Reason I ask, I'm going to Bologna for a week for work in October, and, believe it or not, I've managed to convince my bosses that a tour of the Lamborghini factory could be beneficial (with regards to investigating alternative manufacturing ideas and alternatives of course!). As I wont have a car or anything, is there any public transport available? Or would it be too far for a taxi? I also intend to check out the Ducati factory but as this is in Bologna itself, shouldn't be too hard to get to. After seeing your pics, I would love to go to the Ferrari museum in Maranello as well, but I ain't gonna push my luck any further! Cheers, Matt.

So, I got me loom, stared at it, laid it all out, stared at it a bit more, read the instructions about 16 times, stared at it again and then, about a week later, decided it was time to jump in. Had a baal removing every bit of the old wiring, was pulling wires out of places I never would of thought! Then, I started. Methodically running every wire to it's correct place, wrapping the wires together as I went, generally feeling pretty damned pleased with myself. Now things aren't quite so rosey, I'd just finished running the rear section all the way to the back, trimmed all the wires to length, started to wire up the tail-lights and then it occured to me, there's no wiring for the brake lights! Got the book out again, all it's got is,-Tail lights, Turn signals and Back-up lights. Then it occured to me, bloody American tail lights are different! They don't have a separate amber indicator. Bugger. So now I need a bit of advice. My thoughts are to run the wiring for the third brake light and split it for the brakes and then for the indicators, I'm gonna have to tap into the front indicators. Does this sound like the best option? I knew it was all going too smoothly! Thanks, Matt.

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Help with Star S-106 Gun

I had exactly the same experience with the same gun. I found that mixing about 60/40 with more thinners to be slightly better, as well as upping the air pressure a little. In the end though, I was still not really happy with the result so I ended up getting out my tried and trusted old Star 770 suction feed, while I'm no expert, it gave me a MUCH better finish. I've since spoken to a professional painter and he said that basically, gravity is better for 2 packs but even he prefers suction when it comes to acrylic. In fact, his gun of choice for acrylic was the Star 770 with a 2mm nozzle. ( I used the 1.6MM).

Matt Good work! Looks great. I am happy doing the welding jobs but painting is probably a bit beyond my patience levels. Can you let me know what size tyres are on those centrelines? Cheers Craig D Hey Craig, front tyres are 205/50 15's and rears are 225/50 15's. Matt.
