2  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Wiper arms on: August 29, 2016, 10:28:36 PM
G'day all.
Finally got the ute on the road but there's one thing left to do and that's the wipers. I thought I had some but when I finally got round to fitting them I could only find 2 passenger side arms and no blades.
So, does anyone here have a spare pair they could sell me? Or maybe know where I can find some? Not too concerned about condition as long as they work!

Thanks!
Matt.

That's brilliant Harv! Shocked
Some good reading there and I reckon i might have learnt a thing or two, cheers for that.
If I don't find something in the meantime, I'll definitely take you up on the offer, much appreciated.

Hey mate, I did exactly the same thing! if the pipe is long enough, they can cut the end off, flare it and fit a new nut. I think it cost about 15 bucks from memory. Make sure you use the proper flare nut spanners! I didn't.....
6  Technical Board / General Technical / Twin carb questions on: June 06, 2016, 09:13:45 PM
Hi all, quick question re running twins. I have a rebuilt stock carby (23-105D) and if I wanted to run twins, does the second carby need to be exactly the same model or could a later one be used? Also, what changes need to be done as far as jetting goes, if any?
I'm just giving it a bit of thought at the moment as I have just bought a set of extractors and I also have a Cain manifold that has been collecting dust in the shed for a few years.
Finally, does anybody have a good carby lying around that they wouldn't mind swapping for a few dollars? The shop where I bought my last one closed down and there isn't really anywhere nearby that sells them.
Thanks!
Matt.

Hi Fraze, you looking for an original or modified? I'm considering letting mine go if the interest was there. Not a lot left to do though as far as a project is concerned, but it could quite easily be returned to original.
9  General / General Board / Re: R M Williams Rig on: January 15, 2014, 02:58:54 PM
No worries Dennis!
I know absolutely bugger all about trucks but I do know a bit about RM Williams, been working for them for nearly 25 years!
10  General / General Board / Re: R M Williams Rig on: January 08, 2014, 09:20:08 PM
Yeah the truck was supplied free by Western Star as a promotion for both companies. This is actually the 3rd one they have supplied in the 12 or so years the Longhorn Express has been operating.

I had a very similar experience with an EH a few years ago. After trying everything and getting severely frustrated, I ended up borrowing another window and bugger me, fit perfectly! I put them together and 1 was about 3mm wider. Huh  Roll Eyes

I didn't think they were going to fit either but I just soaked 'em in some boiling water for about 5 minutes and they ended up going on. Eventually Undecided

Looking really good Matt.  Any tips for a first time painter..... :-)
If you're not after a show car finish, just give it a go. Get yourself a scrapped panel from somewhere and practise, playing around with pressures and settings until you're happy. Remember it's only paint, if you stuff it up, let it dry, rub it back and try again.
Another thing, Youtube is your friend! There are some great learning videos (some complete crap as well) that can demonstrate far better than reading books can. Even today when I fitted the windscreens, I must have watched at least a dozen videos showing how it's done, giving me the confidence to have a go. My thinking was, if I can't do it, I get a pro. If I can do it, I've just saved myself $300. Easy! Wink

Progress!! Grin Grin
Been a long time between updates but I haven't been completely idle.
Since the last update I have;
 - completely re-wired the whole car with a brand new loom from Vinwire, brilliant product that even a complete electrical dunce like myself could work out.

- new interior, head linings, carpet etc.

 - and today, refitted both windscreens with new rubbers. Easier than I thought, even hit them with the hose after and no leaks! Rapt Grin

Anyhow, here's how she looks now;

Almost onto the home straight now, just need to rebuild the entire braking system and fire the rebuilt motor for the first time, hopefully it runs Undecided

19  Technical Board / General Technical / Windscreen fitters on: May 19, 2013, 12:44:53 PM
Anybody in Adelaide northern suburbs know of a cheapish windscreen fitter to fit both screens in my ute? I have all the glass, rear screen dividers and new rubber so I just need someone to fit them for me.
Cheers, Matt.

 Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Well there you go!
I've definately got 2, ones a spare I suppose. Because they were in a box with the scuff plates and interior mouldings,
I spent ages looking around inside trying to work out where they go. Feel like a bit of a dick now! Undecided
Cheers Wayne and Dave.
