Mine still has the black cardboard type in it, but some parts have dropped .so looks like l will be replacing the lot
the worry is will these sound deadeners stick and stay there

you can imagine the amount of heat that hits  the roof directly on top so hopefully someone
    has used something that works

  John
there is a nut bolt  on the ratchet arm that you can disconnect ,its there to adjust the downward  tension on the
air vent cover   this will give enough height on the vent  to get the seal to remove and reseal

32  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Bootlid Rubber Seal on: March 10, 2019, 09:46:34 AM

When l had both old and new rubbers side by side the base was larger on the new rubber
which made the rubber sit higher .only because there was to much rubber to go in channel
different texture on the new one a lot softer ,more like sponge than rubber

there is one,it is  either beta auto or thompsons that has a larger base on it  which makes it harder to fit and also
sits to high ,   l fitted one of these to a club members car only to find it didn't fit well

l ended up cleaning up the original ,or it might have been an old rare spares one and before fitting found that the square base
that fits it the channel was slightly smaller

made fitting easy and boot lid sat nice .  hope this helps

how much of the off white would be needed for a panel van
have a mate doing an original pmg postal van
so thinking its the same as ute maybe ,you might have a better idea on the vans on the amount
also he is checking the color of his original color he thinks its white

                   thanks greg      (fcwagoon)
38  General / General Board / Re: where is eveyone on: February 15, 2019, 03:21:17 PM

lm  the same , happy to help if l can with spare parts and advise people are  after  ,but my own project has been sitting on the        rotisserie  at the back of the shed now for 18 months . other projects sometime take priority over the wagon but l will get there one day   ,  l still check in  at least three times a day and enjoy looking at builds .
l have plenty of pics but getting them up is frustrating sometimes especially  for us oldies

Still looking Mark     ,have passenger sides, but as usual all drivers have rust or broken tabs
must be because they are all used more often .
can see another one still in the door out back,  buried next to the shed will try and get to it when it cools down bit
      37 degrees today
