1  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: seat belts on: April 27, 2017, 09:15:00 PM
I used Hemco belts in my wagon from Stamps Seat Belts here in Vic.

Rear inertia belts fitted out of site , images on my build thread now in finished projects may be useful for ideas.

Been a while since my last update.

Have been driving the wheels off the old girl , goes really well.

Now lowered a little , temp gauge and venetians fitted.

The only thing I want to change at the minute is to put on some better fitting wheel trims.

10  General / Events, Shows etc / Re: All Holden Day Bendigo Sunday 16th August on: August 17, 2015, 09:25:21 PM

Weather held out for a great day.

This was the second year at this venue, not sure what the official number was though looked bigger than last year.

Found this web site, our car is image number 400, wife driving with our boys, daughter and I drove our Chev.

12  Technical Board / General Technical / Rattling Windscreen on: April 29, 2015, 08:46:18 PM

Has anyone encountered a sound like the windscreen rattling or knocking at the top of the dash?

I thought the sound may have been coming from the wipers, though as far as I can tell it does seem to be the windscreen. I didn't replace the rubber on my wagon as it and the screen looked fairly new.

Any thoughts appreciated .

13  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: How should FC blinkers work? on: February 24, 2015, 09:48:45 PM

Thanks Jamie, very helpful  Roll Eyes, had already checked earthing , that didn't fix it.

Thanks Ken , I was wondering if this may be the case , I'll check again.

14  Technical Board / Restoration Help / How should FC blinkers work? on: February 23, 2015, 08:24:44 PM

Can someone confirm how the rear blinkers on an FC should work?

When I apply the brakes, both the rear blinkers and brake lights come on. When the blinker is used the appropriate rear one flashes and the other side turns off.

Looking at the wiring diagram this looks correct, having a wire that runs up from the brake light switch. If I disconnect this they work normally.

Thanks.

Ian.

Here's a couple of images of mine finished. The pinchweld is not overly attractive. I'm also going to chase up covers for the top bolt.

Also a couple of images of the trim piece. Hope these are useful.

Ian.

John,

1) I used a pinchweld from Clarkrubber to go around the slot . I'll postup some finished images .
2) Yes as you have described, I opened up the hole and pulled it up with a thin wire.
3 ) I'm pretty sure my plates were around 22mm x 6mm.
4) I drilled out the existing nuts for clearance , then ground the remainder of the nuts off using rotary burrs in a drill.( Awkward job).
5) Yep, loaded up the family and went for a cruise last night , thanks Smiley .

Rego today.  Smiley Drives really well.

Got the plates in time. Original number as far as I know.

Still have the side spears and venetins to put on, apart from that it's finished.

Big thanks to my dearest, ( now I can get back on to your project and all those jobs around the house ) Cheesy.
