The size is 1.7/32 I replaced my FC earlier this year and could not buy them separately, only a pack of 10. If you have trouble getting hold on a couple send me a message and I'll put a couple in a postage bag and send them to you. Cheers,Darcy

In 1973/74, I spent 12 months based at the RAAF Base at Learmonth, about half an hour south of Exmouth. A lot of the American servicemen based at the Harold E Holt naval base had their cars shipped over. The American government imposed a $2,000 bond on each car that came into Australia. If an owner sold their car before their two year tour was completed, they lost their bond. A lot of the cars that was sold were taken to Perth and converted to right-hand drive.

I picked this buckle up at Fletcher Jones Market in Warrnambool about two weeks ago. There were two there, this and one same as your broken one. I told a friend about it but unsure if he followed it up. It might still be available.

I recently acquired this annex off a guy who bought many years ago for his FC Sedan. Unfortunately, he can't find the instructions and was missing ropes and pegs. It was made by Jiffy Car Annexes on the Gold Coast. The fellow I got it off said it can be used on both sedans and wagons. There are extra poles with it to allow it to be free standing. I'm unsure if it is missing any other bits and pieces, a mate from the Vic FE/FC club who is knows vintage vans is going to give me a hand setting it up. First attempt at setting it up in the garage. Got some rope and pegs and it looks pretty good.

Spotted this old girl today in Dandenong. Paint is faded, missing a hub-cap and has few bumps and bruises, looks unmolested. The owner was happy for me to post photo on forum so long as rego number wasn't visible. It still has original plates. Someone may know this car, last spotted heading down Frankston Dandenong Road. Cheers, Darcy

Hi Graham, I spoke to Phil this morning and he has reserved Thursday 17/04/14 at 10.00 AM for FE/FC Holden Club members. So far there are 7 cars and 12 people with Jackie and myself, any other members who wish to attend don't need to book, just to arrive and enter all together. Entry is $7.50 Any inquiries you can call Phil on 03 6334 8888
The museum has different themes during the year and the theme for Apr - June is British Sporting Heritage. Cheers, Darcy

I rang National Automobile museum to find out opening times over Easter and they are open every day of the year except Christmas day. While talking to Phil at the museum, he said that they are able to offer car clubs a "Car Park Special." If a group of cars arrive, pay and enter together, entry cost is $7.50, normal price $12.75, a saving of $5.25 each. The Museum needs about a weeks notice, with approximate numbers, for car-park bookings. Jackie and I are going over on Wednesday 16th night sailing and will visit the museum on the way to Hobart on the 17th. If anyone is interested in forming a group for Thursday 17th April, I am happy to take details and arrange booking. Launceston is about 100 klms from Davenport and about 200 klms from Hobart. Phil assures Museum is walking distance to city center for anyone not wanting to go to museum. Cheers, Darcy

Late last year I got a call from my lady friend asking if I'd go with her to look at an old caravan one of her friends wanted to sell. She knew I wasn't interested in a van but she thought perhaps I could take some photos and put it on the forum and see if anyone was interested. We went over on the Sunday and I'm still not sure how it happened, but that afternoon I became the proud owner of a neat little Sandrover caravan. My car didn't have a tow bar fitted so up until a month or so ago the van has been sitting under the carport.. The van is not totally original, it has been painted over the years and shows some wear and tear but overall is a neat little unit. As my car is unrestored they compliment each other quite well...It's 11ft 6ins long and weighs in at 450kg. The van has only had two previous owners, has never been unregistered and still has has original number plate.(G53-462) This van was not originally painted, it has had different color schemes over the years, red, blue and yellow show through in places. It's going to eventually end up plain old white. The guy I got it off thought it was a 1950s build but the plaque stamped on refrigerator says June 1966, the guy at Shannons thought late 1950s early 60s going on the rego. I've given it a couple of test tows this week and the old girl handles it OK, all going well I'll try it out soon over a weekend away... Cheers, Darcy
