G'Day
I had my paint mixed up from orinigal code by the spartan paint dealer(Cant Remember Name) located one street off Moss Street in Springwood. They went to great trouble to get right, contacted HQ in Melbourne. Ended up with perfect match.

746  General / General Board / Public Liability Insurance on: May 18, 2002, 02:45:30 AM
 Smiley Hello All Club Members
Just as a matter of interest, what are the other "Clubs" in OZ doing in regarding to Public Liability Insurance?
As Shannons have pulled the pin Cry as well as a lot of other companies, where and from whom have you being able to get public liability insurance from?
Our club is currently searching for someone to take Shannons place as we must hold insurance all the time and not just for the odd show.
Any Suggestions? Huh

747  General / General Board / Re: Private Boards for FE-FC Clubs on: May 18, 2002, 02:30:40 AM
G'Day Ret
As per usual a great job being done by yourself, I feel the nationals should be placed within the events section and hopefully it will be up dated by those in the know, no matter what state they are from.
As to inner private club areas I think you already know my feelings about that.
We all enjoy our particular models of car and does it really hurt to share the information around.
Thanks again

748  General / General Board / Re: holden vs ford on: May 08, 2002, 07:53:22 AM
:)Favourite Car well I have to say FC Holden, I have owned many a Holden, ford, Valiant, Mini Minor and even a Vanguard but I still love my FC.
Current stock in the shed, 1 x 1998 SS Commodore, 2 x FC Holden Sedans and 1 x 1994 Commodore Wagon, plus the work supplied Holden Combo van.
As to V8 supercars never brand use a motor available to the general public, the Ford’s use a US nascar block as a basis and the Holden’s use a narrow V Chev block also supplied from the US. Apart from the general body shape neither vechile is really representive of what the average Joe blow can drive.

750  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: bucket seats fe on: April 21, 2002, 04:14:11 AM
 :)Hi Liam
I have early model Commodore buckets fitted to my FC, they have removable headrests and fit very well. I used the standard Commodore floor mounts to retain the slide mech. etc.
I just made up two mounting brackets for each seat, this run length wise, under the existing commodore slides and have plates attached front and rear to allow the bolting to the orinigal outside bolt holes in the floor. The inner mounts near the tunnel are exact copies of outside units but you have to drill the floor and place rectangular plates under floor to spread the mounting load. This install was approved by an engineer.
Hope this helps, sorry for being long winded.

751  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: paint colour on: April 05, 2002, 08:41:27 AM
Hi
I used the touch up paint available at most auto shops ended up with "marello red" Huh excuse the spelling but it is an early commodore colour. Seems to match the colours that come on rare spares badges

753  General / General Board / Re: fc holden insurance on: October 03, 2001, 12:17:56 AM
Chris
I have my FC insured with Shannons, very reasonable rates and a salvage clause which means you get the wreck and the cash if vechile is written off, makes it easier to start again
