Thanks for that, what sort of paint was it?
I have tracked down a two-pack black primer at Spray Chief, an old Adelaide paint shop that would seem to perfect for the job.
Here's an old picture of the FE, it will soon be fitted with warm 202/traumatic combo. Still deciding on whether to fit red steelies and baby moons or to get the 13/14" Tasman's fixed up.

To customfc
Just wondering if you could post a better shot of your car in it's black paint. I am considering flat black for my FE one day.

I have heard of this happening with other events, public liability insurance goes through the roof and the events are no longer viable. I have heard of various reasons too -

1. Insurance Companies capitalising on the Sept 11th events and cranking up the rates.

2. The big insurance company collapse (HIH?), probably just another profit booster, you would think the remaining insurance companies would be getting more business.

3. Increased claims on public liability insurance, usually prompted by the ambulance chasing lawyers. I have seen ads recently from lawyers encouraging people to come forward and start court action even if the incident happened years ago.

Who said "greed is good"?

You should be able to take them to a chrome plater to get the chrome removed. I have done this before with a set of bumpers.

Here's a tip for towing the FC.
I was transporting my FE on a tandem trailer down Port Wakefield Road, there was long left hand bend that I slowed for by lifting off the gas (100 down to 85-90). When I did this the trailer started to sway a little, thinking the worst with the loved ones on board, I tried to slow further, I got to 80 and things got really scary. Figuring less speed made it worse, I sped up gradually and the sway disappeared.

The trailer was pretty highly sprung to start with and the FE was without the motor so the package was around 9 foot high and pretty light.

I hope you have a good trip!
4567  Technical Board / Modification Help / Which Diff on: January 02, 2002, 08:36:52 AM
I was measuring up the 14x6 Tasmans that I purchased to go under the FE. By my measurements the diff (drum to drum) is 1440mm. To centre the rims in the wheel well they need to come in about 25-30mm (1 inch) each side. Is there a holden diff (banjos are OK) that is around 1380-1390mm wide?
