4461  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / Re: Registrations of Interest in FE Sedan parts. on: April 30, 2003, 03:55:18 AM
Cat, I am in Adelaide, well a bit north of Adelaide in Lewiston. The guards from memory were straight, but rusted in the bottom and around the headlights. Subframe I am not sure about. I'll have a better look in a week or two when I get it back home.

Slim, go on if you like, as above I will look through the car properly when I get it home. First in best dressed!
Horn button is trash, 1/4 windows are there, I saw the plastic sides but not close enough to see the condition though.

Geez, if I got two replies this quick, I must be sitting on a gold mine with an FC Wagon full of bits out the back and 4 big boxes of parts stripped from an FC (came with my FE). I will be cleaning the shed in the next few weeks and will compile a list.

I will be bringing an FE Sedan home soon for parts, it is pretty much complete although rusty in the usual spots.
If anyone is after anything in particular (and I don't need it) let me know as I will be stripping and chopping up the car. I will be grabbing the bonnet mascot, front indicators and then probably cutting the rear off for a FE seat.

The old grey is still there, although I am unsure of the condition.
4464  General / General Board / The T-Shirts are in!!! on: April 29, 2003, 08:47:56 AM
Just got the t-shirts back from Hoddo today, my son only took his off for a bath and my daughter is wearing mine because I neglected to get one done for her.
Contact hoddo to get yours, I sent my own T-Shirt, but Hoddo sent a sample of the shirts he can provide and they are excellent!

Slim, you've got some weird looking kitchen utensils  Shocked

While we are sharing pics, here's one of me and the eldest, busted playing Tomb Raider.

4467  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: first timer on: April 28, 2003, 10:48:54 AM
Don't do it, they are asking way too much. For $8,000 you should be getting something would be taking out trophies at the Nats!
Something like what you have described should go for no more that $2500, considering all of the rust involved.

Slim, got to agree about the Toranas, I was crazy on them when younger. I fell in love with FE/FCs from the blown Candy Apple Red FE in Street Machine and I always loved that Rare Spares T-Shirt with the EH and the FC. Still got the Torrie though, stripped down in the shed awaiting paint (10 odd yrs so far!)
4468  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: Nationals photos. on: April 27, 2003, 08:56:56 PM
The easiest way to find it is to go to -
http://www.whereis.com.au/
Just type in Jindabyne and select NSW as the state, it gives you a map that you can zoom in and out and pan.

Cheers
4469  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: wheel siza and width on: April 27, 2003, 08:48:48 PM
Digger,
Is the HR housing a different track width to the STD FE/C diff?
Will the HR diff housing bolt straight in or does it need work?
4470  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: FC special badges on: April 27, 2003, 11:53:26 AM
Just a quick tip dam-mad, you should be able to edit your own posts, it may save a bit of hassle. Espesh after a few bourbons Wink Jim Beam I hope.

There's a little "Modify" link just at the top of each post.
4471  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: wheel siza and width on: April 27, 2003, 10:23:51 AM
Hey Jock
What width tyres do you run on the 14x7 rims? I have a set of 13x6 and 14x6 Tasmans that I will be fixing up soon. I was going to go 13x5 and keep the 14x6, do the tyres tuck up under the guards without scraping?
What's the track on the LJ housing compared to the FC?

Cheers
4472  General / General Board / Talk about keen! on: April 24, 2003, 11:04:47 AM
Here's a site a few might want to look at when their project seems to be overwhelming them!
The project vehicle looks worse than the $100 parts car I have down the back.

4473  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: 1/4 Panel cut: from Mitsu Colt Sedan. on: April 23, 2003, 06:43:34 AM
Wouldn't it be easier (cheaper even) to flip the Commodore filler?
4474  General / General Board / Re: Slim's Personal Trading Post on: April 15, 2003, 08:04:58 PM
I guess RET and Slim would have the final say, but I think the board is diversified enough, especially the buying and selling sections.
4475  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Station sedan on: April 14, 2003, 07:03:52 PM
Here's a resized one.
4476  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Station sedan on: April 14, 2003, 06:59:54 PM
Just like Alex said, but make sure the window is not MAXIMISED, then you can click and hold the bottom corner to resize the photo.

Harko, the image is 1109x536 pixels, if you resize it to 800x600 or even 640x480 it will turn out heaps better.
4477  General / General Board / Another bl**dy Discussion Board on: April 11, 2003, 08:09:25 PM
Just letting anyone who is interested know, the Street Machine Association of South Australia have "re-launched" (changed hosts actually) their web-site. It now includes a discussion page. I have emulated (not an exact copy) the FE/C discussion pages as they work so well. We don't expect the success of this board, but it is a place for SA people to get together and the SMASA Commitee are heavily involved.

http://www.smasa.com.au

Just click the "Discussion Board" link in the LHS Bar.
4478  General / General Board / Re: Insurance Cheap ? on: March 27, 2003, 10:32:21 AM
Shannons.
I have my F*rd Galaxie insured with them (agreed for $6000 with $250? excess) and will hopefully soon do the same with the FE. The Gal is on Historic Rego so the premium is a lot less than usual, roughly $10 per month, direct debit too.
I have also heard good reports from many people and their dealings with Shannons and the speed of the claims process. They are now owned/underwritten/whatever by Royal Sun Alliance if that makes a difference.

Hey John,
I can't change Ed's post so I thought I'd help out and post the correct URL. If you right-click on the missing pictures and go to properties it gives the URL, in this case the fefcholden.org.au go mixed with the Starphoto URL. Messed around with the address 'til I had it right and posted them.

It's a shame about the tail-lights though
