Its funny how i asked this same question on the fb/ek forum, and got the majority saying bottom is the way to go. Been thinking now, may bottom will hide the cutting of the door strip for the curve section to join.

Might even remove the front gaurd diamonds and special badge and insert the diamonds or fb stars at the rear.

lets see how i go, and how motivated work leaves me this week.

short answer on the candian block.. 48-215's are an australian car with american input (im putting it nicely). Hence the first production were made with a block that was produced in cananda, thus being known as the canadian block.

From what ive been told from my fj days, and also from my old man who has a genuine 48/215 (body 210), these canadian blocks were suppose to be a better cranck, and the blocks also are better for boring out. These were produced within the first year of production, maybe the first 250-300cars, and are maybe as scarce as my speco finned side plate.

But, id guess if you want one, i think FB Mad had one last year at a few swaps, and also a gentleman by the name of butch brown at wigham nsw, or stan bennett also in nsw, both the fx/fj drivers and owners clubs in nsw amay give you better leads on contacting the gentleman. Also butch would probally have loads of speed equipment, alot cheaper than ebay.

mate you know what its like, dads trying to tell me that anything with factory electric wipers isnt worth its weight in scrap metal. (thank god im not writing this on the fb/ek forum).

We actually have a female member in the fb-ek club, (im not sure if marks wife -fcminivan is also a member), funny enough, it was her ek that was chosen for steet machine a few months back as its probally the best ek we have seen.

My mrs, also wants an ek (not fb ), but we are looking at getting an auto. Once she has it, ill fix it, and she will also be a member, hence she comes to everything anyway.

You will be surprised with the amount of ladies these days that have become very interested in such beasts these days, so even though you may think its an all males domain, dont be shy to put your head in to a meeting/run once in a while, and you may see the other halfs also admiring the generals work.

Hi guys, i was talking to an insurance rep from Vigil Insurance, and he noted this car show. I thought seeing its in vic, the vic guys might be interested.

Details are as follows:

The event is the 21st picnic @ hanging rock car show. It is organized by the Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club. This Year Lumley Special Vehicles will be the Major sponsor.

It will be held on the 01/02/2008 and gates open at 8:00 am.

It is $20 per car for entry or $5 per motor cycle.

The show incorporates vehicles from veteran to pedal power excluding average cars.

ok rat, the price is a low $1850.

car is ok, but will need a handy few weekends with floor pans, minor body rust repairs, and a good paint. Car should pass rego with new tyres and the reinstallment of the lights.

Best off looking at the old girl to make up your own mind, and see if the work load suits your requirement.
