I saw that at the Swap Custom FC but I did not see you, very SHABBY CHIC with that distressed paint job.
I wouldn't like to be in heavy traffic with that chopper gear stick though.

Hey sgo, From memory there are supposed to be two lugs on the button. When you press the button in, it disengages from the two corresponding grooves in the handle, allowing it to turn. If the handle were forced without pressing the button in first, it may have sheared the lugs off the button?

1564  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: FE sedan with carpet in back on: February 07, 2004, 11:33:20 AM
Only that the carpets in my beast looked like they had been fashioned by a blacksmith rather than a GMH design team. Also they were on top of the rubber mats, so must have been an option.

Just goes to show how prolific the venerable old Holden was. It probably took the photographer 10 minutes to wander down the road from the 1st picture & set up for the next & he still manages to get an FE in the frame!

Exposed nuts? no Shocked no Shocked no, the hub cap remains in place, then the wheel trim fits over it, thus framing the hub cap.
Cheers

Don't know where you are or how much of a hurry you are in. I have a full set of keys that I found at Holden dealer. If you can find the 4 digit number on one of the other lock cases I can lend you the correct key. This assuming the ignition has not been changed at some stage & it matches the other locks.

1576  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Boot Lock on: January 19, 2004, 12:23:02 PM
Hey Norm, you might find the lock will be less sloppy if you make a ring shaped gasket or seal to fit between the exterior bodywork & the lock, usually rubber but gasket paper might be ok, pass the wife in a pair of scissors & a torch to make it for you! Smiley
1577  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Grey Manual 2 Auto on: January 18, 2004, 01:29:05 AM
Hi Vinnie, I am also planning a grey with auto & air for my FC standard wagon, would appreciate any info you have re the air.
At this stage I am thinking of using an EK - EJ hydra-matic, although I have been advised against this.
For the motor I am using twin Strombergs & a mild cam to help offset the extra load on the grey.
I have replaced the entire front floor with a strong rust free EK Auto floor & attended to some other rust work but thats as far as I have gone.
