1  General / General Board / Re: Whatever happened to Torque FC? on: May 12, 2008, 01:54:23 AM
Hi Guy's
Yep , I'm still around but don't get on the Net very much other than researching some medication they put me on 14 months ago & everything went "pear shaped".

After Kiwi rang , thought I'd better log on to say G'day , & had forgotton till now (one of the side effects) "Short term memory loss" afraid I'm not kidding .

Haven't driven a car of any type since March 2007 (mrs said) lucky I'm not on the road , Huh .

Still got the Yellow Beast (yep Craig , still sitting where it was when you came up  Undecided . ) .

I'm putting a Post-it note on my puter to remind me , must give Harko a ring too . I'll have to do some Back reading to catch up .

Take Care Guy's & I'll try & get back on soon

I'm just watching "50 years of Holden"  finding it interesting ,it's on the "History Channel" (probably a repeat & it'll be on again)

Good quote from Brocky " Bathurst would be nothing without Holden & Bathurst would be nothing without Ford" ..

"And Den" , who do we see ?........? Interview with our own Graham Fuller , complete in his FE/FC T-shirt . Grin

Good stuff , mate.

I've got to tell Diz (my Mrs) she's out at the moment , she knew him well when she worked at Dulux Paints , he used to call her when he wanted paint for the cars & even asked to meet her when Dulux had a Promo Night

Hey Ret
Yep , the two previous owners of my car had a small chain from the g/box-bellhousing bolt to the body with a "turnbuckle" in the middle to hold the motor back under braking . I never replaced it & think it was just luck I never gave the radiator "a trim" , because there's not much gap in there , less than 3/4" I reckon.

What can I say?
Trev is so sadly missed by so many on this forum , we joined about the same time and nearly "wore out" the chat room . At the time the ISP I was with had a 4 hr "cut off" and the number of times I had to "re-log on" I couldn't count ...   I don't think there was a a car show on in WA that I didn't recieve an email with a full rundown and loads of photos , I saved every one of them and still have them on disk.
Trev put me in contact with daggsey   (his best mate) because he has friends here in Young (NSW)  NOTHING was too much trouble .  Unfortunatly I never met Trev "in person" , something I honestly regret . Sad

Trev , thank you for the many hours of laughs , information and friendship , You will NEVER be forgotten.

Thanks Chris (daggsey 58) for your post & update . Please tell Carrots & the boys our thoughts are with them at this time.

Seemed like a long time waiting for this but it all came together in the last 6 months ,  shows how much work goes into the "unseen" parts .
Looks really TOPs , mate . Worth waiting for .

Couple of more pics showing a Red in the enginebay without modifying radiator or firewall.

Gap at fan to radiator about 10 mm

Gap between head/exrtactors to body less than 10 mm

No room for aircleaners here

If the EFI is any bigger than this , ya gotta get "the Harko Adjuster" (angle grinder)  out  Grin

( Guys used to mount a "chain" with a turnbuckle between rear of the block to the body to stop putting the fan through the radiator under braking )

Geesh , I gotta clean that engine bay up again   :-/ , Haven't touched it since Nov  12 mths ago .....

Hi Guyzz
As much as I would really like to accept marks offer , I'm afraid I had to decline ,  AsI can't be too far away from the Drs .    I am extremelty disappointed not being able to get there as this would be the "IDEAL" place for my car to be .
I thought it was such a generous gesture of Mark to travell 200 k's out of his way , and though he should "get a pat on the back" ...

    Thanks fella's  be in touch

16  General / General Board / "TRUE" Club Spirit on: March 11, 2006, 12:33:54 PM
Hi Guyzzz

I haven't been on the site much lately as the "Wheels have Fallen Off"  health-wise in the last 12 months  :-/.

 "Why The Post" ? ? ? ?

"minifcvan"   ( Mark ) keeps in touch whenever he's over my way (Young)  and last time he was here he offered to bring a trailer with him at Easter time , pick up the "Yellow Beast"  & myself  and take us "to the ISLAND" . as I haven't been able to drive since last August .
What make his offer so incredible is that it would be 100 k's North then an extra 100 k's South further for him to travel .   Shocked

THAT  is what I call "TRUE Club Spirit" ..... Cool Cool Cool

If a couple of you guy's could shout him an extra Coldy for being a Top FE/FC enthusiast , it would be great.
Thanks Mark for showing us what this club is ALL about   Cool  Wink  Grin  Cool

Hi Ya nes138
This inlet manifold was specially made for my car so there were no "Mods" done to the firewall (rear carby tapered forward a little) , but they are a "very tight fit" on the 192 Red , I don't think they'd pass RTA .  I've got a standard waterpump & stock fan & radiator but not much room at the front & the motor misses the firewall by less than 10mm , you can just see this in the bottom pic .  If you've got the chance while the bay is empty , it might be worth "knocking it back" a bit 15mm + .   The car is reasonably balanced   &  used to corner pretty well , but then again it's on 10" slicks and VERY low .
(Please excuse the pic , was taken before the engine bay was cleaned up)
