1  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Inner sill with original circles pressed in? on: February 08, 2012, 11:53:19 PM
thanks guys........fatboy, where are you located?......my father in law is a fitter&turner/bolier maker so I could either take a NOS one and ask hime to ask a fabricator friend or if fatboy is too far away, i could try to cut the good one out and do that and its mirror, assuming there's a difference (the rare spares repro looks to b all of 2 folds).  Once we can find a fabricator who can actually do it, i'll ask him to make plenty!
cheers

spot on, Ken!  (but would you be able to teach me how to upload the photo which pinpoints the section?)

thanks Ute-opia
4  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Rear Spring Hanger Front Bracket Assembly Subframe Member (LH) on: February 07, 2012, 08:30:32 PM
sorry, but i'll phrase it differently and hopefully clarify (and i'm still trying to find the authoritative source of subframe member names), i'm after the Front Bracket Assembly "Subframe Member" for the Rear Spring Hanger and not the Rear Bracket Assembly for the Rear Spring Hanger.  Hope that all made sense.  If someone could teach me how to attach a photo I could draw a red circle around the piece i'm after since the Insert Image icon only adds html tags of and I can't find the way to upload or attach the photo?
thanks again and sorry to be a pain in the butt

5  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Inner sill with original circles pressed in? on: February 07, 2012, 01:59:17 PM
Hi!  I was told by my mechanic that I needed to replace my LH inner sill but went to rare spares and the repro piece doesn't have the circles pressed into it.  Would anyone know if there is a more authentic repro available on a retail basis, or should I cut mine out and take it to a fabricator for a one-off?
thanks very much

6  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Rear Spring Hanger Front Bracket Assembly Subframe Member (LH) on: February 05, 2012, 12:12:04 PM
g'day,
My FC Ute has a badly rusted one of these and no-one seems to fabricate a replacement section and it was mentioned that these only rusted on utes, so I should look to cut one out from a sedan or wagon donor subframe.  Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a good one?
much appreciated

8  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Rear Spring Hanger Front Bracket Assembly Subframe Member (what a mouthful!) on: February 04, 2012, 12:32:35 PM
g'day experts......spoke to Waddintons and AlGeo(?) about this and neither one fabricates a replacement member and one of them (can't remember which?) suggested cutting out a good one from a donor subframe.  Any suggestions?  Happy to go either way if someone knows of a fabrcated member or has a donor subframe that doesn't mind the angle-grinder?

thanks heaps,
Ute-opia

10  Technical Board / Restoration Help / gray motor front mounts? on: October 23, 2011, 11:19:06 PM
g'day....i have an EK ute which had a motor in it that was buggered, engine number starts with 'L'....I bought another gray and transferred all of the bits, went to put it back in, only to notice that the plates on the engines which take the motor mount are different.....the other engine number starts with 'J'.
On the 'L' engine, the bolts that go up through the plate are wider apart than the bolts that go down, and on the 'J' engine the bolts that go up through the plate are the same width as the one that go down, but because the 'L' engine plate points forward and the 'J' motor plate points to the rear, the holes into the member in the engine bay are 2" apart.  Hope that was understandable.  Any idea what is the best course of action to deal with this?  Swaps the plates over?, drill new holes in the engine bay member?, make a plate to span the 2"?

thanks if anyone has run across this one before.

13  General / General Board / Trying to contact YOYO1330 from Mildura? on: October 05, 2011, 12:44:05 PM
Hi all.....this is a strange one.....I'm trying to contact YOYO1330 from Mildura as he was selling a heap of FC Ute parts from a project that looked like it wasn't going ahead.....I've replied to his/her thread, PM'd, and emailed.  Does anyone know this member and could you slip him/her a message to contact me please.  I'm not precious at all about my real identity (so long as people stop saying that I have never been seen in the same room as George Clooney)

thanks very much
