41  General / General Board / Re: fire damage on: February 27, 2009, 10:57:41 PM
... also, an FC ute......

I guess at the end of the day they are just cars, and they pale significantly in comparison to what some people lost... it's all so destructive though, and still going...... Undecided

I don't know anything about this one, the photo came through on the wires. She's sporting a black eye now though........

Great pics Alex and Paul!!

I've just seen a copy of the latest "Australian Classic Car Magazine" which has a nice shot of a few of the club's cars in it - even a small pic one on the cover Wink

Didn't get a chance to read the yarn yet, only saw it long enough to scan the pic in!!

43  General / General Board / Re: great photos in street rodding mag on: January 02, 2009, 11:12:24 PM
Could it be the Street Machine Hot Rod 2008 Annual....?? Not sure if that's the one you mean, but there are a few good pics in there too... some old racing FJ custom pics too - right up your alley Alex! Wink

Cheers, Les..

G'day Jim.....

No mate, you haven't missed it!!

Yes, there is one in the pipeline... it's almost finished, just a little stuck on a couple of pics I guess. It's designed similar to the previous one so they should hang together well.

I'm still searching around for a couple of killer shots if anyone's got one they'd like to contribute Wink

Cheers

Sounds like a great plan Stinky!! Looking forward to seeing it come to life!

As in your earlier ideas, I've always wondering how Foose would attack an FC!! I'd love to see it happen one day!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Wink

Good luck with it!!

Cheers

54  General / General Board / Numbers for Ken and Geoff on: June 11, 2008, 11:27:13 AM
I found a "new" ute down the road yesterday....

BODY: FC-2016-10389-S
TRIM: 194-649
PAINT: 256-2051

Chasis number: FC 51980 S
Engine number: Couldn't quite read, sorry!

Skyline Blue with Peasant Blue interior trim.....

Here are a few pics. The owner is still undecided whether to fix the ute up or sell it and buy an EK (which is his prefered model at this stage). The only real concern was the section behind the cabin was rusted out. He asked me if I could find out if this section was "easily" replaceable or fixable? Most other areas he was sure he'd be able to repair no worries.

It had a W.E.Y. rocker cover and extractors....... and it looked like the battery had been held in by a chain!! (you can just see the end of it bolted near the radiator)

Cheers

While on our way to Mt Gambier for the Nationals we stopped off in Adelaide for 3 nights and we took the opportunity to visit Birdwood Motor Musuem up in the Adelaide Hills.

Inside a "Holden" area of the museum was a little photocopied booklet with a few Lang Lang Proving Ground shots in it, some I'd seen before and others I hadn't (you guys might've seen 'em all before, but I thought I'd post them anyway)..... sorry for the poor quality, photos of photocopies Wink

Cheers Wink

It's taken a while, but I've finally uploaded my Nationals pics..... Unfortunately there isn't a photo of everyone's car.... As I've been going through my pics I've realised I missed a lot of cars.... on the upside, there's plenty of wagon pics Wink

58  General / General Board / Re: Excitement At Finding Goodies on: June 05, 2008, 10:51:06 PM
My one and only find was sort of from a wreck..... one morning about 10 years ago my wife said I should check out a "couple of cars on a truck, just around the corner". I found a guy throwing out 3 FCs.... Yes, 3 of 'em!! Shocked Shocked Cry

All of them were pretty gone and unfortunately I was too late to save any of them, or anything from them.

A couple of days later I dropped a note into his letterbox pleading that if he had anything else could I buy from him it rather than see it chucked out... He called back and offered me a free motor and gearbox.

The motor is now in my FC and going great!

60  Galleries / Members' FEs and FCs / Re: FC wagon on: June 02, 2008, 01:26:27 PM
now that I've got the wagon. One of my, so called, mates saw it and immediately told me he knew the colours. Since he knows sfa about Holdens I asked how he knew. He told me it's easy, dark primer over light primer Angry

Cheers
John

LMAO!! Grin Grin
Still looking foward to seeing it Wink
