1  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / Wanted FC Wagon on: April 22, 2010, 08:44:28 PM
Dear forum members, came close to buying a wagon this week, but despite being a car with potential, it didn't tick enough of the right boxes, so here I am, once again seeing if anyone has, or knows of someone who has, an FC wagon for sale.

I would like it more original looking than not - must have bench seats, prefer a grey to a red, but minor mods to make it more 'driveable' are OK
As close to roadworthy as possible - RWC preferred, current rego preferred
Prefer a vic or SA car as these would be easier to view, but willing to travel for the right car
As little rust as possible
In other words, a drive it away and enjoy now car, not a project car
Wife is a bit choosy on colour - grey might be a bit of a hard sale, but not a deal breaker

Cheers

I know one thing about it - its already sold.  Rang up the owner this evening.  The wait, for me at least, continues.

G'day Paul,

I fitted these exact mirrors to my black FE.  When I first bought the car it had 70's style torana(I believe) ones fitted - they were big and ugly.  I fitted these as they used the same holes but were much smaller, nicer and shiny.  There is a picture of my car at the Federation Square gallery on the FE-FC Vic site.  I must say that I am really pleased with them and I believe they suit the car.  Can supply more pictures if you wish.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

What were the colours of the wagon?  Can you make a guess as to the rust situation?  Or the condition of the body/interior

I think that is called the London Bus Syndrome.  When I was a kid in london we had the choice between the tube and the bus - with the bus being half the price of the tube and a more interesting trip. So you'd wait for a bus, and wait and wait.  You would finally get sick of it, purchse a ticket for the tube, and as the tube went over the bridge, down below of course, 3 buses would turn up, one behind the other!

Cheers for the advice! Cheesy

Well, for whatever reason, its gone from ebay. Sad  So I shall have to keep searching for one of these rather elusive fc wagons.

So if anybody knows of one coming up for sale, please let me know.

Looks like a very nice wagon.  It has certainly got me excited.  Does anyone know anything about this wagon?  Would be keen for any inside knowledge.

Paul, that is a great looking wagon.  You have done very well and I am very jealous.  I hope to have my own wagon one day soon, and if it looks that great I will be one happy FC owner.

Congrats on the win Paul.  If your wife is exasperated now, how will she be when the next one arrives. Shocked

I can't think of many things that would be sweeter then cruising the B roads of Ireland in an aussie icon, visiting the odd pub and supping on a pint or two of guinness. Cool

Cheers

I am after a FE/FC wagon, getting hard to get I know, but here's hoping.  Have been keeping an eye out for a while with no luck.  Saw some great wagons at the nationals, made me very envious.  Have got the wife fully on board!!!! and I am very keen for a wagon for weekend cruising with the wife and kids.

Here is a wish list of sorts:

Prefer unmodified or close to.  This applies much more to the interior then to the engine - I love bench seats.  I can live with a red motor, but prefer grey - also much prefer manual (column shift please) if there has been a change to the motor.  Non original wheels are fine.

I'm after something that is in good nick - not a show car as I want to enjoy driving it, but the better it is, the better if you know what I mean.  It can either be original paint or resprayed - would prefer it to be in original or close to original colours if it has been resprayed.  No or very minimum rust.  Must be RWC or very close to.

Interior should also be in good to excellent condition.  And mechanically, as reliable as possible.

I live in NW Vic so obviously a car in Victoria or SA would be easier for me to get to see, but would consider the right car from another state, though WA might be tough.

Now down to brass tacks - budget:  $10-12000, but I would be willing to go higher for a car that ticks all the right boxes.

You can either pm me, send an email to me (i think its included in my profile) or contact me on 0427120802

Don't know if it makes a difference, but I am a member of the Vic FE/FC club, and if I'm lucky enough to get an unmodified wagon, then that is the way I want it to stay.

Cheers

Steve

It is always best to inspect, so I have chatted with the owner, seems genuine, so I'm off to the big smoke this weekend. If nothing else it will make my mum happy.  Just going to hurt putting the fuel in the car.  A small milestone was reached yesterday when I squeezed over $100 bucks of fuel into the modern family wagon.  Will be worth it if we end up with an old and much more appealing family wagon.

Thanks for the advice so far Grin

And if anyone has a wagon out there, especially in the VIC/SA area, and it is in reasonable nick or better, and will serve me and my family well on our trips, then please let me know Smiley

G'day,

anyone know anything about this wagon?  Looks good, I have usual concerns about rust etc and why seller isn't keen to get a roadworthy done. Am keen to secure a wagon, would prefer something less modified, but it is hard to be choosy these days.

Ebay Item #190220333727

Any info would be much appreciated

Can't wait till I can replace my crappy broken ones and have my seat looking how it should.

Any word on how long before we can actually buy them?
