1  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: R/F Non frosted scratch plate on: December 18, 2005, 12:57:59 AM
guys ...

what are the differences between the frosted and non-frosted varieties (apart from the obvious appearance differences)?

Were both varieties available as stock on original holdens? Or are the non-frosted reproductions or something?

I want to try and go for the most stock look ....

cheers
Jamie

thanks Wayne - will keep this guy in mind.

What sort of prices did he charge you? Did you shop around? Did you find him on the cheap or expensive side?

thanks

I've got a similar problem/issue.

A mate did my grey motor up a few years ago now (free of charge).

However, he dropped a new cam in that is just a little bit lumpy. It has a nice little throb when idling, and very good performance up high (not sure of the exact specs of the cam though). Taking off from a standing start though is a bit of a hassle - I have to give the car a bit of petrol before it will even move (definately not a nice smooth takeoff)

Unfortunately, I have brougt the car back to be stock all round - so would really like to get the Original cam back in.

Is there anywhere I can $$$ buy a (new) 'original specification' grey motor cam?

thanks ...

Hi there;

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Sydney metro area that does automotive re-chroming?

I'm particularly interested in getting my Hubcaps done.

thanks

9  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Nasco Power Brakes - Fitting Instructions on: February 08, 2005, 11:15:11 PM
Hi Ret;

Would you be able to post details / instructions for how to fit the Brake Booster set up, on the website here?

I think that it would be an invaluable resource for anyone thinking about dropping a Brake Booster in their holden.

thanks
Jamie

FCcool -- you mentioned the possibility of repairing your existing one?

Is this possible without removing the front/rear windows?

Cheers

Gday Parisian62

Good to hear about 'A Stitch In Time' - will definately contact them .... seems as though they have a good rep.

Yeah - I have tried with the FB-EK club, but the board over there is not as active/large as this one.

cheers

13  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Standard Grey CAM .... on: January 26, 2005, 12:55:53 AM

14  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Bench Seat repairs ? on: January 26, 2005, 12:25:48 AM
cheers RET .... will definately give "A Stitch N Time" a call.

What can you suggest if the vinyl to be repaired is in a really bad state (eg creased, cracked, ripped etc)

Any ideas where I might be able to get some new trim to match the original stuff? (even a reproduction will do)?

thanks
Jamie

15  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Bench Seat repairs ? on: January 23, 2005, 09:08:58 AM
Thanks for the tip ...

I might give him a call. Can I also ask you:

Did he do anything with the seat springs (or just retrim) ?

Did you have the seat retrimmed to an original look?

What sort of dollars did he charge you?

thanks again ...
Jamie

16  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Bench Seat repairs ? on: January 23, 2005, 07:39:28 AM
Hi there;

Are there any members from Sydney who have recently repaired / overhauled their bench seat?

I'm looking to find an upholsterer who is genuinely interested in working on an old car. (and knows what they are doing as well)

Mine has large cracks in the vinyl across the drivers seat area - and the springs have sagged. I want the repairs to be as stock as possible.

Any suggestions ??

cheers and thanks ...
