For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / Queensland Personalised Plates
|
on: August 07, 2015, 03:02:14 PM
|
Hi, I came across the old personalised plates from my FC in the shed the other day. I no longer have an FC and I no longer live in Queensland, so I think I need to part with them. Photo is coming shortly but they read: OWN59 With a picture of Homer Simpson and the words "mmm...donuts" Make me an offer if you're interested. They are in very good condition and would cost $495 to get them today, although I don't think this theme is in procustion anymore. Cheers, Pete

For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: 59 FC Special Sedan for sale

Hi Dougie, It had a roadworthy 2 years ago & really has only done probably 2,000 km since then so I wouldn't expect it would need too much. It probably depends who you take it to. If they accept that the car is 51 years old and hasn't just rolled off the showroom floor I don't think they'd find too much. Maybe that rust patch in the crossmember would need to be cut out & replaced and perhaps a couple of new tyres but I'd be surprised if there was anything else that would cost major dollars. If I don't sell it Saturday I'll let you know. Cheers, Pete

Hi Dougie, Yes, she's still for sale. I have someone from Brisbane coming to have a look at her on Saturday, but no guarantees he will buy. I'm just having trouble with sending the email. I suspect the file size is too large with all the photo files attached. When I get home tonight I will try again or perhaps just post them here on the forum. Cheers, Pete

Technical Board / Modification Help / Twin Carb jet sizes
|
on: November 21, 2010, 06:11:55 PM
|
I've just fitted twin strombergs to a stock 138 grey motor with 45 main jets as recommended in other posts but still running extremely rich. Seems smaller jet sizes required. Has anyone else had similar problems & how did they overcome them. Thanks, Pete

For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / 59 FC Special Sedan for sale

It's with much regret that I am looking to sell my FC sedan "Marge". I would be willing to sell her either with or without rego and with or without a roadworthy certificate. With rego (5 months) and roadworthy I would be asking $8,500. Once she's had a good wash & polish I will post some more pics but I have attached a few taken over the past 12 -18 months for now. Car is in Toowoomba. The car has only slightly been modified from original. It has a twin carby set up, finned rocker cover, extractors & electric wipers but otherwise the engine bay is pretty original. Interior roof lining has been re-done in non-genuine material and it has a cd/mp3 player fitted with front & rear speakers. It has 13 inch mag wheels colour coded to body colour. I've owned it for 2 1/2 years & it hasn't done a lot of work, been under cover most of the time & as a result, the paintwork is in quite good condition. It only has 1 slight ding on the passengers side front guard (from where some lovely person tampered with my wheel nuts & the front wheel came off while driving home one afternoon). The chrome & stainless trim is in very good condition. Virtually no rust. Interior is in fair condition, both seats could do with a re-spring & re-trim but all door cards are good & it has carpet fitted to the floor which is in reasonable condition. Dashboard is pretty good, all dials & lights work. Mechanically the car is very sound. Goes well, stops well and doesn't run hot. I also have numerous spares which I would be happy to throw in if I can get near my asking price. I have front & rear windscreens, a boot, a number of doors in varying condition and also a selection of chrome & stainless trim pieces plus some carby & dissy parts. If interested, I would be happy to take calls on 0419 673 141. If you would like further information or more pics my email address is peterandliz3@bigpond.comCheers, Pete

For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / LHS Front Brake Backing Plate
|
on: June 13, 2010, 03:45:01 PM
|
Hi, I need a replacement brake backing plate for the front left hand side. The existing one got damaged when I had a wheel come off recently, I suspect the wheel nuts may have been tampered with. If anybody has one in good order I would be very interested, even if I had to buy an entire front brake assembly. Thanks, Pete

Yep, it's your high/low beam switch. Not the most convenient place to have it, the more recent models have it to the left of the clutch pedal which is a bit easier to get to. I had all sorts of fun the first time I was driving at night & had to simultaneously- Turn a corner Change gear Apply brakes and dip my high beam coz another car was coming at me. I might also have been turning up the volume on the cd player, not sure and maybe texting with my free hand It was like the proverbial octopus with a battery up his arse.

Totally off topic, but I thought I recognised the latin quote in your profile "Fortius Quo Fidelius" or Strength Through Loyalty, which is of course the motto of the mighty Saints. Can I deduce then Rabbitoh that you are a fan of the Red, White & Black?

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: cable accelerator modification

Hey Stinky, Did you ever get that spare 10 minutes? I am about to fit a twin carby set up to my FC & thought I would convert to cable at the same time. Would be interested to know if the L300 pedal & cable was an easy changeover or whether I would be better off going with a late model commodore unit. Cheers, Pete

Hi, I have 2 passenger side front guards, not a pair unfortunately & I'm in Toowoomba, which is a fair hike from Newcastle. Both in pretty good condition, one is a bit better than the other (no surface rust). Cheers, Pete
