Hi Ace,
I'll beg to differ,  fe rear scuff plates have 4 screw holes  and fc's have three [just checked my fe wagon and my fc sedan] and FWIW fe plates are flat on top full length  and fc's have a ridge full length on top Smiley

Hi Rob & Jim,

90  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Upper tailgates FE or EK.. which is better? on: December 09, 2004, 12:38:03 PM
Hi Ed,
there is a slight difference between a fc upper tailgate & an ek upper and that is its mounting point to the hinge.
the fc screws on with tapered screws and the tailgate upper has countersunk holes. The ek has normal holes and uses normal hex bolts. Just in case you want to keep yours stock ? Smiley

91  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: HEAD LIGHT SURROUNDS ? on: November 06, 2004, 12:32:04 PM
Hi guys,
here's the info on the headlight surrounds :

1/  There is no difference between left & right
2/ There are 2 types :1/  Lucas  which have 2 slots at
the bottom [1 slot on either
                                      side of the bottom mounting
                                      hole] as Craig has mentioned
& has a rounded front edge as
                                      Alex has mentioned.
2/ Bosch  which have  1 wider slot
                                      directly under the bottom mount
ing hole and has a squared off
                                      front edge.
Also what I have found is try the surround on the guard first before rechroming as some surrounds fit better than others  who knows why.

hope this helps Regards Mick  Smiley

The highest numbered FE standard wagon I've seen to date is 1764 [FE219-1764 A] not many hey and as RET says any one is worth saving as now there as rare as rocking horse do do.

94  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: is it fc or fe on: October 09, 2004, 11:08:45 AM
Hi david,
The headling is the same pattern in all fe's and fc's. In the fe sedans there were 6 different colors and in the fc sedans there were 5 different colors. even less colors in the wagons and commercials.

Hi guys,
Steve I just had a look at my nos saddle rubbers and the lips on them are even so I'd have to agree with Nicko and John. just a bad casting on yours.  Mind you they would still do the job.
