Thanks Rob, much appreciated. My spare he says is not operational at all. I am happy to send it to you and if you can make it work its yours. Please PM me with your address and I'll send it to you. The one that was on the car he did a temp fix on, says it got very very hot at some time has done something to it (bent something but he isn't that happy with it) and its now charging, he did say its a temp fix and that I should try and get a working one ASAP. If you have an operational one I'm happy to purchase that and also send you the one I pull off the car. All I'm trying to do is get the old girl more reliable for the Nats ![Smiley](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Regards Rod.

For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Bosch Voltage Regulator
|
on: September 22, 2017, 10:41:04 PM

Would anyone have a Bosch Voltage regulator suitable for a late 59 FC Sedan. Had the old girl in at the Auto Electricians today. He tells me the generator is working fine but the regulator is no longer operational. I had purchased a spare at a swap meet however it wasnt working either. If you have a spare Id love to hear from you.
While on the subject why did the FC come out with Lucas and Bosch systems? was it early FC's with Lucas and later ones with Bosch?
Regards Rod.

My car is pretty original , after I washed all the grime, oil and dust of my engine I found the starter motor to be bosch blue in colour. I purchased another grey motor complete and after a clean up the starter was bosch blue in colour. I don't know the answer but I'm leaving mine the colour I found them in.

Was wondering if anyone out there has a spare FC Sedan, scissor jack and handle that they are willing to sell. Also is anyone aware if there is a toolkit bag available as a reproduction?
Regards Rod.

Hi RP, great to see another wonderful car coming to Canberra. Are you aware of our club the FE - HR Holden owners club. Like you I got my car and came onto this forum. I wasnt aware of our local Canberra club but the wonderful guys on here got me sorted out in no time. Like your car, mine also needs a lot of work, much of which I have no idea about. The guys and gals in the club are a welcoming friendly bunch and are always willing to lend a hand or offer advice. Im probably way to slow and you have already been contacted by someone in the club. If not please consider.

Hi David from a fellow newbie. Don't be afraid to ask questions, Ive asked every dumb question known to man and they still have the patience of a saint and always get back to me with an answer even a dumb bugger like myself can understand. What a great looking FE. May you have many enjoyable hours driving her.

3 speed, I stand corrected. seemed like two it was utterly gutless when it dropped into 3rd. Id prefer the manual over the auto. In a modern car I prefer the auto over the manual. The EK used the "H561" (released May 1961). This was replaced in later EK's by the "H562". The EJ and EH Holdens were equipped with the "H562" and later "HA563" units with revised ratios. Each unit had "H5xx" (where xx = year), as a prefix for the full serial number stamped on the plate attached to the casing. Holden's HydraMatic manual also refers to the transmission as the RHM 240 series. Rod.

That is so true Errol ![Grin](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I wondered how long it would take till I could wind one in. Though owning an EH premier with a hydramatic 2 speed was a backward step. And yes I can find great beauty in fb's and ek's.

So Ken your telling me that the FC was the first to have the yellow indicators, first to have the paper element air filters and first to have the welded wheels? So what new technology did the FB -EK cars get? An electric wiper motor? Its not a lot when you think that they were the ugliest cars Holden ever made! Even though they have so much FC technology in them.

Ken are they the rims with the rivets in them or are they the welded type? Im not sure my car has the welded type and someone in our club said that the 59 FC should have the rivet type? Im definately interested if they are the right ones for my October 59 FC.
