That is cool, must have used some power for the thousands of filament bulbs, is that coles and woolies next to each other?
It would be a good picture to step into and spend a night in but i bet coles and woolworths are shut.
looks like good days, everyone is out in town but no traffic.

i am looking at getting some made up with bigger pipe but for the time being i modified red ones. hope they work.

they wont clear efi manifold without modifying the efi manifold, i dont know how good this will be becuase black / blue extractors have a peice connecting the end pipes to the in side pipes.

Ed, i will ask my uncle, he has a backyard full he has rounded up, if i tell him what you are doing he might spare a selection of frames, he is like minded. he never leaves a odd looking frame behind on a clean up nad has a good range.

the place i am staying at may have a room for about $70 per night, they are a bit behind the times and dont advertise on the net so they dont book right out like everywere else, a few weeks ago i called and they said there was 3 rooms. its not in the centre of the action but it is in it.

see you there craig, i will be the one on the beach holding a sign with "FREE BOURBON PLEASE" on it under a ripped beach umbrella so i feel at home.

48  General / General Board / Re: Alfio has been banned on: May 30, 2007, 08:28:04 AM
it did look a bit like he was trying too take over alex and johns thread and i reckon he shouldnt have posted the pics of the other car the way he did, maybe he should have left that secret, now people will see it at a show and say "its just a grey and white one with the tag of a black one.
but i rely alot on info off the net, I know alfio knows his stuff, i much prefer take advice from someone like alfio than someone who has slaped some bog over some rust and old paint down there back yard and thinks they are a bodyman.
I think alfio is pretty passionate about what he does and seems too easily upset when he doesnt get the feedback he wants.
as most of us who have done our own paint and panel know it takes some hard work and time and lots of expensive materials to do what alfio does, i doubt he is going to get rich of it.
Alfio does make a bit of a fool of himself on the forum, he types even worse than me, he isnt that bad in real life (unless he is singing kareoke) I think he might give people from other states that dont see him so often the wrong impression.
I know some people can be very upset or disturbed by swearing when they turn on there computer but it doesnt upset me or even my kids, all that annoys me is everytime i open my outlook inbox is always full of viagra and penis enlargement messages, never any messages for me from anyone i know, i have big enough equiptment down there and its hard enough trying to keep it down let alone taking things to make it go up.
I think the best way to look at alfio's black, grey and white FC is as one that had a massive rust replacement section done, i dont really think its the same car imo but you can bet a good body is better than welded up rusty one that is more likely to crack and rust down the track, so you could say alfio is taking the safest route for rebuilding his black FC, maybe for safety reasons.
it will be good too see updates if alfio returns and a bit of tech stuff, hopefully alfio will be a little more tame and we can see this thing through till the car is finnished.
the forum has been a little dead lately and this week a few projects have been updated and a good ol sh%tfight again have put some life back in but i think we all need to remember we are old holden fans, not playground bitc#s and this is the FE FC holden forum, not http://www.jerryspringertv.com
49  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: FCCOOL KUSTOM WAGON REBUILD for Mt Gambier? on: May 29, 2007, 08:19:18 AM
ok stinky, here it is, i havent done heaps, i reprimed the roof, i rubbed it down just with some dry poweder guidecoat and was amazed how bad the roof was but it was originally primed the day i finished striping it becuase the car stays outside overnight. we are getting mega due here and i already have some rust spots showning on one corner of the roof, i will strip that back soon and try and work out what happened.

i had a bit of a break, or just kinda slowed down a bit as i had been spending too much time on the car and not enough with the family.
I started putting the engine together and spotted a crack in the block, i contacted the engine shop and they assured me it is a common crack and they dont break so i put the haed on, here is a pic were the crack is, its to blurry to see it but its between the water jacket and stud hole.

i got this BIG leak in the roof of my new shed too-

soon these guards will be welded to the car!

here is the latest pic of the fron, yesterday-

52  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Twin exhaust on: May 25, 2007, 06:46:23 AM
no,
quad pipes are for v8's and twins are for sixes, that is how the mercedes benz AMG engineers do it, check the rear of all the new AMG models.
on the other hand 4 cylinder POS like pintara, magna, etcetc should have 1.

this is how twin sound on a six, take away my mates squeely fan belt, both these cars have twin exhaust on a red, the EK has harley davidson fishtail pipes-

54  Technical Board / Modification Help / brake booster under the gaurd on: May 25, 2007, 06:35:45 AM
anyone got a brake booster under the gaurd or hidden? i want to do it, my gaurds will be near impossible to remove once the car is back together so it needs to be servicable with the gaurd on.
my booster is a vh40.
55  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Head problems on: May 25, 2007, 06:30:46 AM
yep, i mean a tap to put thread in a hole, the screws came from my engine shop, a engineering supplies might have them, they are like a bolt with no head and a allen key hole in top, if you get the size of the hole you could ask for the grub screws and a tap to match the thread on the grob screws.
in the pic the grub screws have four yellow lines pointing to them, my engine shop reckons it wouldnt leak if you left them out, they are just there for peice of mind.
my last gasket was a acl monotorque, it was ok, acl also have a fancier strong one wich is the race series head gasket.
if the motor was all together there is a possibillity ofcourse that water went in the oil when you removed the head, i usually drop all the oil after taking of a head and put new oil in, might be worth checking out if you havent taken the head of yet.
make sure the surfaces are clean, i used metho for the final cleaning on the surfaces wich were already machined.
56  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: HINGE SCREWS on: May 25, 2007, 06:19:14 AM
i hope you dont make them extinct, i need some too, they are a pain in the arse to find, all ive found so far is a screw with a allen head @ penrith boltmaster.

59  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Head problems on: May 21, 2007, 06:42:52 AM
did you drill 4 holes?
i beleive you dont have to but my old holes are taped and pluged with stanless grubscrews.
what did you use for a stud sealer?
did you rebuild the hole motor or just change the head?
60  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Twin exhaust on: May 20, 2007, 11:05:16 PM
i had single splitting to two infront of the diff, it sounded like a v8 at idle but had a higher note as the revs got up.
i think you can kind off hear it in the video i have a link to below.
