Leon,
       Its absolutely awesome to see
some progress on your wagon- its
really quite hard to believe that you
started it back in march last year,
time flies aye? . i bet you must be
pretty excited to finally get the motor
back from the shop, can you tell us
what has been done to the motor?.
i cant wait to see it when its done,
by the looks of things it looked to
be a really kool custom, i guess it
will only look better this time round.

Anyway keep up the good work Leon,
its really great to see a wagon being
Customised Smiley

Craig

are you sure that calculator works correctly? i never knew a fc sedan that weighed 1050 kg's with 587 hp would pull 7.6 on the 1/4 ??

rob,
yeh, yeh, iit looks ok i guess Grin Grin Tongue
263  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Ute full length rear bumper on: January 10, 2006, 11:07:58 AM
man that ute 'FLAMES' is wayy Kool, does anybody have any more pics of it (i really dont mean to hijack this thread, but thats kinda the look im going for Smiley

as for ute bumpers, they look better with a full bumper, really (personaly) gives it a nicer look.

sarge,
thats the final color, flat black Smiley going for that ratrod style, about to order some dummy spot lights from Kustom City (thanks for the help with that alex, appreciate it), and then its just mock up and interior, drop the motor in and finish off the brakes.

as for the plates, am i missing something? (as im bloody lost, again!)

anyway, thanks for ya comments Smiley

I still say Red 6  Tongue

i dont know about you guys, but id prefere the look of a fully detailed red 6 over a plastic fantastic v6. i know reliablity, power (haha) , bolt ons ,  blah blah blah but still......its only a v6. i have a mate who has owned his fc for 15 years, and he hs spent the entire time restoring it. in 96 there abouts, he decided to go for a vp v6. only weeks ago, he finally had it driving, and he wished he had never chosen that route, and he has continuesly druelled over our v8 fc. at the end of the day, you can have your v6 powered fc, and we will have our v8 powered fc, i know at the end of the day you would end up second best! Cool

Harko,
the big block looks absolutely excelent sitting in there-it looks like there is plenty of room around the motor aswell, not to mention how low it is sitting. this is going to be one hell of a van-you must be bloody proud to have it at this point now-keep up the good work and dont forget to keep us posted Smiley
269  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: FC WITH VL 6 on: January 09, 2006, 09:35:59 AM
i still believe that a red would be the better way to go!. it will be a hell of a lot cheaper to fit, you wont need to fit computer, fully new wiring harness 4 wheel discs etc etc

a red motor say with a steel crank, blue top end with some head work,  stock injection or aftermarket injection and a nice cam, would put out quite a lot of HP

if your after power, why not fit a v8? as there is the same amount of work as there is to fit a v6

anyway, just my personal opinion Smiley

271  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: FC WITH VL 6 on: January 09, 2006, 04:13:27 AM
a v6 doesnt go much harder than a slightly worked red 6, keep that in mind..... if its $$$ your worried about, id be going for a red 6!

not only that, if your going for a red 6, you can keep your column shift SmileySmiley

cajerridoc,
that engine number is very very close to the one that was in our fb, the engine number was v653811p

im not 100% sure, but when we owned the car we noticed the strange engine number and asked around a bit, and was told exactly what rob said :

the car was used in the force, then when retired, was rebuilt and sold off, makes sense when you think about it Embarrassed

quite interesting when you think about it.
