ret,
I'll make some up (not dissimilar to what is above) and email it to you for circulation/distribution.
Should I assume 10-15 cars from FEFC??

Slim,

There was a post in May from 4hammers who was also after venetians but I can't seem to drag it up in the search.  It had the details for a few places you can try for venetians, although he was after wagon ones - I don't know if this makes a difference in terms of suppliers who make them, but going by the details in the message (in amongst a discussion on how ret could eat 1200 pizzas Shocked)  you could try:

http://www.earlyholdens.com/shop/venetians
or
O'Briens Autoshade in Adelaide 08 8293 1477 (may be an old number)
or
apparently ther's a guy in Newcastle who has a good stash of parts but I have no idea who he is!  I think Ed had the number....

I'm sure someone else has better info than I do but it might help as a starting point.
Cheers,
Cat

243  General / Events, Shows etc / AVIEX 2002 Air Show Run 17 November 2002 on: October 12, 2002, 06:57:23 AM
Hi everyone!

The Aviex 2002 Air Show is the November run for the Southern Sydney Early Holden Car Club on Sunday 17th November 2002.

The public Air Show itself runs for 2 days - 16th and 17th November 2002.

Attractions include "Connie" the Super Constellation  Shocked (Anyone who has experieced this beauty knows she is the most wonderful aircraft in the whole word!), Neptunes, Yaks, Roulettes, and heaps more including australian and international aircraft from everywhere.  The event is so huge it had to be moved from Bankstown!!

The SSEHCC is participating in a car display on 17th and will be given free access and parking as part of the static display on the day.  We have also invited the FEFC Holden Car Club and also the EH Holden Car Club to make it a great day out.

As the Air Show itself runs from 10am to 6pm, we will need to arrive at 9am and will be able to leave after 6pm.  I know it's a long day, but how cool will all the action be!!  Grin

I have advised the Air Show organisers that we are expecting at least 20-25 cars.

I will send flyers out to all clubs in the next week, however will need a show of numbers ASAP (i.e. before your next club meeting) so I can organise a decent number of entry passes.  (They need to plan a display area for us, and the cops won't let us in without the passes.  Huh)

Other details such as meeting times and places I will arrange closer to the date, so watch this space.

The Aviex website has all the information you will need -
http://www.aviex.com.au

Please post back by Friday 18th October 2002 if you are interested or need more information, email me at cat@nsw.fefcholden.org.au or call me at home on 4655 6440.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.  Grin

Ok, firstly I have to apologise to ret as I have no idea.....Embarrassed.....and he has been very helpful in getting these photos onto the star-thingy.  Grin

Secondly I have to apologise because the photos are only scanned from normal photos, so the resolution isn't as good as Alex's photos...and that's because I still have no idea.  Huh

Nevertheless, here is a link to some cool photos from the run around the track at Eastern Creek recently.  Shocked

I promise I'll get better at this!!!  Thanks ret! Grin

I think the calendar is a great idea - one of those ones that is A3 sized on glossy paper would be grouse!! Do you think Holden would be interested?  I guess not unless it's a special anniversary  Cry

ret I'm going to have a sticky beak on the National Archives site...from what you guys have found it looks like it's pretty good.  And I think Alex has been hiding his talent in this department!  Actually you all have found some great stuff...I'm just waiting for the original Poo Chariot advertisement to be posted..... What an absolute beauty!  Shocked
How cool would it be if we could reproduce these!  Is there some way we could organise to get a set of posters, say a selection of three of the favourites as voted by us or something, and get the OK from Holden to do a print run - if we funded it of course...?  Sales could then cover costs...........  Cool
What does everyone else think?  I for one would love to have a few of these on the walls at my place...

YAY! Cheesy More poo mobiles......bring 'em on!  We're going to take over the poo world you know!  Shocked Maybe this will be called the poo forum in the not too distant future? Oh, and the poo colour changes between '57 and '59 .... well that's Poovolution of course!!
Cat  Grin
PS I'm looking forward to seeing that photo Denis, and particulary the detroit kit.  I was thinking about one for the poo wagon in Castle Grey.....it makes the poo go faster.........!
251  General / General Board / Re: Air tight FC on: September 24, 2002, 12:18:37 AM
Well Richard you took the words right out of my mouth!!  Quite clearly it's '59 poo......you see '57 poo is far more subtle and sophisticated  Roll Eyes Of course you realise if you want maximum poo impact you should go for an FE - it has a more complete poo coverage rather than just skid marks down the side! Grin

PS We thought the movies at the 21st were fantastic.  I nearly recognised a lot of the faces but for the extra hair and less tummy  Tongue  A well organised event that's for sure, so congratuations to the organisers!

253  General / General Board / Re: What a great site! on: September 11, 2002, 09:44:37 PM
Oh well, you could always sell them at a swap meet, or trade with one of the guys for FE parts.......now you will note that I said FE, which are by far the best of the two, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Welcome, it's great to have another girl around!  Cheesy

255  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Unknown FE Colours on: September 10, 2002, 12:53:13 AM
Thanks Craig, it's interesting that there is a difference in the vintage.  I wonder how many other colours there is a different mix for.  Is it common?  If it is, I imagine there may be a few cars that could possibly have been repainted with the wrong colour mix (that is if they are trying to be original).

Anyway, at least I'm not going potty - the "poos" are different!  Now I won't be driving a Poo Chariot after all......although I am getting worried about what sort of nick names you lot will come up with for a salmon coloured mobile .......... Shocked Be nice now!

Thanks for your help  Grin  Cat

Yeah thanks for the sympathy Harko....Shucks, who needs enemies when you've got a poo chariot!?!  And as for the bumper.... well I think there's a lot more than just that that's bent (or rusty) on this car!  Roll Eyes  Cat
258  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Unknown FE Colours on: August 27, 2002, 01:07:11 AM
Wayne, there are two chances of me painting the car grey.....!!  Wink

I just spoke to my mum who remembers the station wagon when it was new and she says it was never a poo chariot, but was always a similar salmon colour to the photo only shinier.  On the inside of the doors and areas where the sun don't shine it's not poo colour.  If it was the real Corsiar Tan would it have faded so pink?

So I not sure that Corsair Tan is the right colour.  Mum is going to try to speak to John Black one of my grandfathers mates who was a director at Holden to see what he knows about the car colour but apparently he's pretty old now so may not remember.  Has anyone got any other ideas??

Mmmmm, Poo Heaven - now there's a concept!  Can you imagine......poo everywhere......poo angels......hey, do you think there is a Poo God? Shocked  Harko, I admire your ability to depart from tradition but I don't know if I can.  Looks like it's gunna be the Poo Chariot for me, but at lease I've got an alternative and can go Turquoise for a day if I'm not feeling poo oriented!
