201  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: lowered springs on: November 19, 2006, 06:07:40 AM
The wrong way to do it is to cut your springs, you shouldn't cut them but you could cut them and tell people you bought lowered springs, its worked for me, i wouldnt buy lowered springs, I have been through a few springs trying to get the right height, you might buy 2" and decide you want 3" and end up with cut springs anyway but I doubt you will easily pick up proper lowered FC springs easy but cut standard springs you might.
202  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: parts wanted on: November 18, 2006, 07:21:46 AM

203  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: hello, do you guys like these cute stuff?? on: November 18, 2006, 07:01:59 AM
He might have better luck on the honda civic or toyota echo forums, any one here has enough sense and style to almost puke at the site of those things.
At work we have had peanuts fluffy gear knob covers and mickey mouse headrest covers with big ears on customers cars witch should be defectable just for serveer bad taste. I get angry when i have to drive these things and if I had them things stuck on my seats I would be getting road rage all the time or end up abandoning my car in the traffic.
like srv I doubt its liscensed, its probably a illegal rip off.
Anyone who puts them on there car should be ashamed of them selves.
204  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: hello, do you guys like these cute stuff?? on: November 17, 2006, 10:01:53 AM
Oh no, we find that stuff on the A class mercedes at work all the time, I dont understand why they do it or why the hell people even make them.

T43, donate them to st vinnies and maybe just throw a rug over your seats, as Mr T would say, I pitty you fool!!!
205  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: parts wanted on: November 14, 2006, 08:23:49 AM
I bought new U bolts so I didnt want a full set, just the blocks, I might have to take them greame.

I am also after a peice if anyone is cutting up a car, It is the bottom three inches of the strip that holds the windlace in at the edge of the front of the bottom of the door jamb on the passenger side. I made one last year, it took 4 afternoons to make and I lost it.

208  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Cable Shifter on: November 13, 2006, 06:23:06 AM
I dont have one but if you need to finnish your floor and you want to weld on a box to mount the shifter to I can give you a pic and measurements becuase from what I have seen hurst and b&m have the mounting holes in the same spot.

I am waiting for some guy to put a transmission on ebay, it has a pro matic 2 with it like mine, if i get it I was going to sell the shifter for $100 to cover the cost of picking it up.

I reckon a colum shift would be cool but the hurst and b&m work reliable and are easy to fit once you have a mounting point and probably cost the same as the colum set up.
209  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / Re: wanted fc ute on: November 13, 2006, 06:13:29 AM
good stuff, expect a few headaches in getting it finnished but I hope not too many, i am sure it will pay off big in the end and if it doesnt it will when you go to your first nationals.

oops, i dont know wmy old holdens that well, at a quick glance I thought it was a fj with some changes but then after reading it was a chevy the lines stood out, I just had a look in some mags but couldnt find illusion, what I did find was the same car in about 3 magazines without the writting on the side one magazine it calls it a FB ute, I think it had another name like rainbow something and the owner then was Bruce phillips.

Very cool "Darg" pic's, I have a few pics of illusion in some magazines, gee those twelve spoke spindle mounts on the front of the FJ look small.
212  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: fc grill on fe on: November 12, 2006, 07:02:34 AM
they do, you will need to change the holes but although many will argue, the FE grill is usually more desirable.
213  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: turbo chargeing vs v6 on: November 11, 2006, 12:37:27 PM
the crs kit id a bit small for a 3.8, best way to go is a l67 or whatever they are that is already prepped to run boost without forking big bucks on modifications to a na v6, I dont go much on the v6 but ive noticed some v6 commodores doing 11's with the sc v6, they look much much better once the rocker covers and supercharger are polished up
214  General / General Board / Re: One mans collection 153 cars for sale on: November 11, 2006, 07:22:08 AM
I saw fuel today for 102.9 and its a friday, I reckon its about drop below $1.00 with a voucher wich is funny becuase its been sitting above $1.00 for years.
I had a old boss who once had over 200 restored rare american cars wich were auctioned off when he got into some trouble with the taxation guys, when I went to a business owned by his son I noticed a row disasembled 50's corvettes lined up against the back wall covered in junk, I was told that they didnt really like questions about the cars but I would have loved to get my hands on one.
The guys at work reckon a car cant be used as a investment and if they could they wouldnt be nothing compared to real estate but if I bought a heap of monaros and 60's muscle cars 15 years ago I reckon I would be making a profit now.
I guess if you had hundreds of cars you wouldnt get much chance to rack up miles on them.
215  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Recirculating Ball or R&P on: November 07, 2006, 09:36:55 AM
Reminds me of the all holden day swap meet, there was a brand new recoed EH colum complete with filled in gear stick hole and 2k paint, I had just filled and painted mine and asked how much out of curiousity and he said he was asking 80 but would take sixty, apparently it owed him over $400, the nuts and bolts were even replated, I didnt take it but now wish I did.
My uncle made his colum out of several colums using the best bits from all, it still works good now.
You can get a rebuild kit from rares, I dont know how much they are but it might only be about $90
I wouldnt go rack & pinion unless I had space issues, racks seem to be dearer to maintain.
There is a big adjustment nut on the end of the colum, just dont keep tightening down the nut on the top off. the box.

nice pics there alex im hoping to have my cannon S3 IS for Christmas

Hey justin you can come over and take the progress photos on my car then, I am still using the video camera to take pics wich is why they are sometimes a bit grainy, I have to use a wide conversion lens too get stuff in most off the time wich is why my car probably looks a bit bent in some pics.

I have read a hell of a lot of critisism of the VE on forums, is it really that bad, most people knock the quality or fuel economy and say they would by a european car instead from mercedes or bmw, what I dont get is that those bm's and benzes are good quality but probably the ones in the VE price range are made by mexicans or something and full of korean parts with less power, room and equiptment than the VE and if you go up in price for something equal in size and power you will save fuel but have higher repayments and when the warranty runs out and you are on your own to pay for bits you are going to need to trade it in or have lots of spare money.
What is that second silver car, it looks like twin mill 2 without the twin mills

220  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / parts wanted on: October 30, 2006, 04:52:06 AM
I need a lowering block, my old ones were damaged, I have a couple of odd ones but no matching pairs so a pair would be good but 1 might do.

A cowL vent lever

A set of HR disc brake rims with good centres, I am having new outers put on so the centre is all that is important.

A vt supercharger  ubend between the throttle body and supercharger.

preferably in sydney.
