Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: grey motor rebuild

Ray, have just finished fully rebuilding and working a grey, (for the fc ute to the left of my message) its bored 100 thou over, balanced/blueprinted, fitted with bridge supports, has doubble size 202 stainless valves and a fully ported head, it is not running yet, but do have tripple carbies and headers for it. just keep in mind, when hotting up a grey, they are definately not cheap, the grey we done so far owes about $3800- and it still needs another good $500- (for electronic dizzy) all for something like 140hp. although there is nothing kooler than a grey running a big cam and a pair of headers ![Smiley](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) , just keep in mind though a hot red will cost around the same but will have much more go and more than likely more reliable-just my opinion though!!!

you were chasing something like this yeh??? ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/pro_058fc_350/stuffoo013.jpg) ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/pro_058fc_350/carsandstuff002.jpg) if so, i think i may know where another one is (same as mine), although it is the inline linkage type, this means that it would run 'w' clips inbetween the carbs, not a linkage on the side of the manifold, if that makes sense ![Cool](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

ok went out and had a play with a half complete grill ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/pro_058fc_350/blwnfcgrill.jpg) i measured them by using a piece of string on the bar, then putting it up against a tape measure. the first one you can tell by just looking, the middle/bottom are obveously slightly different, not only in length but in shape just to be sure... top grill bar: 94.5 middle: 95.5 bottom: 2 mm longer

if you try bolting everything else on first, you will find that the bottom bar wont go on. what you need to do is fit bottom bar, the sides, the bars then the 'upright' bars.
also all the grill bars are different lengths-this will be a pain
