I havent done much lately, if its not too hot its raining or just heaps windy or i have no money for parts or materials becuase my two sons and wife all have their birthdays in janurary and we had christmas in december, next month my wife and i just have our anniversary of our first date wich was at the Newcastle burnout masters in 99. I was donated some nbrand new lowering blocks from greame and fitted up the springs, i had some hassles with a striped pin, i thought it was a dodgy pin but i now think it was becuase the parts the pins go through were slightly bent cuasing the pin to bind up so i straightened it using a bolt. i now have the springs and diff in. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/Picture112.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/Picture163.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/Picture184.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/Picture164.jpg) I am experimenting with spray can white walls, i used vynil spray, i heard of someone having succsess like this but cant remember if they used a adhesion premoter, i decided not to so i could save $15. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/cars021.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/cars022.jpg) sorry about the finger in the shot. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/FCCOOL/cars028.jpg)

General / General Board / cheap hot rod movies
|

I have found a few odd movies in the last few years amongst cheap DVD's so I always check out the cheapies. Last year i bought "the choppers" from go lo for $4, it had a subaru wrx or something on the cover but its a movie from about 1957 with a cool hot rod that is about a gang that goes around stripping cars and selling the parts to a wrecking yard. I wonder how many people bought it thinking it was like a mix of subaru's and the west coast choppers. Today i picked up "the wild ride" from k mart, the price checker thing didnt work so i just thought stuff it, hopefully its not too dear. it turned out to be $2, if you get it you might aswell pick up "psycho beach party"for the hell of it wich is also $2 and is a b grade style surf movie set around i think 1961. just a warning but, if you are into the latest specail effects and surround sound you might not like this stuff but if you like traditional hot rods you will probably love it for the price.

the alternative is doing it yourself, you could spend 1500 on gear and materials and do 6k of work yourself, if you just want a tidy up you could do it for $250 but thats if you have acsess to equiptment, for your first job its good to have someone with experience at sucsessfully painting cars hangin around your house. my last paint job on my car was even less than $250. to do a proper job takes a lot of work and you might even find yourself saying"why didn't i jump at that 7k paint job quote" You also need lots of undercover space. anyway, i would be worried about getting my car painted by someone for under 5k unless you are taking the car in already prepped for paint.

happy birthday SRVLIVES, I dont think i could live without my mp3 player, i use it at work so i dont have to hear everyones radios, i use it in the ford via a fm transmitter so i dont have to remove the rare premium sound system to play mp3 and i plug it into my garage stereo everytime i work on the FC. I have 4 x 900mah AAA ni mh batteries so i never get stuck with a flat

from memory mine sat with a bit of a angle, the eye on the spring eye sat above the eye from the body, if the spring eye is below you should be able to jack the car up from the body and stick a lever in from the back between the two eyes and lever the spring forward and above the eye on the body, maybe if you post a pic we could see if its right.
