Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Wilsonia oil line adaptor?

You need a three outlet adapter if you’re fitting a Wilsonia as well as an oil filter. The only ones I’ve seen are new ones which are a compromise. If you’re feeling brave you could eliminate the oil warning light and put the filter hose into the top of the adapter. Ken

My opinion as follows 1. Pretty easy to get 50 to 100, plenty advertised recently. 2. Most people don’t want front drums and ditch them for discs, should be plenty around 25 to 50 ea if in spec 3. Sedan I guess - No rust is important, small dents ok. Hard to get. 300 to 500 Wagon add another 100 4. Rusty doors are not hard to get 50 to 100 depends how bad rust is 5. Boot lid as above 6. Rear door glass usually got with rusty rear doors for no extra charge. Maybe 25 to 50 7. Rear door quarter glass 10 to 20 Others may have different opinions and that’s fair enough

Yes Wookie, unfortunately the fork has to be clipped in place before gearbox goes in. I also agree, a workshop manual is a MUST when working on these old cars for the first time. Lubrication points all over the place when new clutch is installed and fork has been cleaned.
I have one available if you wish to purchase.

They’re only really necessary when fitting new wishbones. New wishbones have no thread cut in the holes, so the spacers are needed to provide a stop so that the nuts will cut there way into the metal and not distort the wishbones. If you’re using secondhand wishbones the threads are already cut and you just line them up centrally as you suggest.

I have seen the different door hinges Rod, and although there is no specific reference anywhere that I’ve found, I think the hinges changed over during the FC run somewhere. When I had boxes of spare hinges there was usually about half / half in my stash. I think FB EK hinges have a different part number because where they bolt on is different. However, try to use your original hinges if possible. The door gaps are adjusted in the factory by bending them so you may get some unintended results by swapping them.

A lot of FE’s got FC rear fins fitted by dealerships during service visits. I have an article on it somewhere. This one of mine had them fitted very early on

As Richard says, chassis number is all important. Unfortunately I dont have Steve’s chassis number recorded. First I interpolated the data in my file to get a “best guess” chassis number for Steve’s car. This came out as FC28573 S This puts the two cars 2779 units apart on the production line Pagewood made 60641 FC’s so 60641/20 = 3032 per month or roughly 99 per day So my best guess is 2 and a half days short of a month apart.
Pretty good estimate by RET!
