i love these threads, I remember seeing vinces car when i was a kid of about 8 or 9 years old at a car show either in blactown westpoint carpark or bankstown square, it was a smick showcar with some hi tek features like a tv, the wheels that now would be called chasers were not really seen then i saw it years later when i was all grown up at a run to rosies burger joint and it looked worn and had bog coming out but it was good to see he got his moneys worth out of the car, next time you see it craig, pull out your phone and take a pic.

I couldnt find any older holdens at blacktown pick & payless with wheel bearings, the closest i could get was of a gemini. While i was there the ford got a flat battery, not sure why, its the first time it's not started since i bought it in 05, a few meters away was a booster battery but the guys at pick & payless said it was for their cars only but they let me use there phone since my mobile just shit itself to call my wife to bring a booster pack.

does anyone know whay might have a simular wheel bearing to HR, at th local wreckers( Blacktown pick and payless) there is some LH-LX torana's and maybe hk on with wheel bearings still intact aswell as commodores and camira's. I just need a washer that goes between the wheel nut and bearing. there is a ej and eh but i am sure the have no front axles even left.

As usual i am not having heaps of luck, i couldnt find all the bits to put the rear brakes in so i just chucked on the drums and rims and decided to get some work done up front. anyway i found i didnt have all the subframe to crossmember bolts, 2x ready, 1 needs to be sprayed matching 2k silver, 1x destroyed while being seperated from the sleeve that was rusted on but the crossmember is hanging up with 2 bolts. I then went to fit the rotors, put in new bearings and got to the second rotor and found i had lost one of the washers that go between the bearing and the nut so i decided to put that on hold till i could get to the wreckers and do the calipers, i finally got the calipers together but couldnt get the dust cover rings in one so i pulled it back apart and lost the o ring somewere in the front yard that goes between the two caliper halfs to seal the fluid gallery so that caliper is on hold wich is for the side wich the bearing got finished on so i still didnt get any calipers on so i went to the wreckers to get a washer and the oldest holden with wheel bearings was a hg so i figured that was as close as i would get but when i got home the washer was way too big so i still cant do up my bearing and fit the 1 caliper that is complete and ready.

Hey ken, i mean the rubber dust covers around the piston (not the rubber sealing rings)., i never had the covers i think you are talking about wich cover in the hole you slot the pads in.

I still dont know whether to stick spring washers in the caliper attaching bolts, but while on the subject of brakes, when i put the first caliper together i left putting on the dust covers till last and cant get them in there slot, the hk-t-g manual i have here says to do it this way but maybe hr is different, on the second caliper i put the dust cover on first and squeezed the piston through the dust cover wich now looks fine. do you hr brake guys out there put the dust cover in first or after the piston goes in and do i use spring washers on the caliper to steering knuckle bolts?

That looks smick, nicely detailed, that manifold must have sucked to polish. did you use the 3 pipes wide at the botttom vk factory extractors, i think they are stainless but they are a bit wide down the bottom. does anyone know what extractors that harko guy who used to come on here had on his green FC?
