I’m not aware of anyone making an early style plate repro. There was a guy on fb making the later one from FB onwards which would probably suit your purposes though.
Re the holes in the plate, can’t think why GMH a would drill holes in the plate, they would be more likely to put an X or something like that to signify not used.
I’m not familiar at all with Vauxhall though.

Vern every engineer I’ve dealt with is happy to accept internal seat belt mounts as long as they are well photographed. That is A pic with ruler to show dimensions, radii etc of the plate and the nut. A pic of the B pillar holes showing bolt position and weld through holes. A pic of the plate in position with no welding done yet. A pic of the plate after welding Etc. You can never take too many pics

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: 1958 FC Station Sedan Chassis

The FC doesn’t have a chassis that unbolt like a chev of the same year does. Everything has to be cut out and repaired. Generally even donor pieces from other cars need a little repair work before they can be used again. The workshop manual shows the chassis details but fitting / making new pieces is generally how it’s done. I have a workshop manual for sale if you are interested in purchasing one.

Yes you’re right Doug, I assumed Muzzie was talking about lower amber indicators, not the indicators in the brake lights. This is the page from the FC glove box manual Ken

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: wiper grommet and spring kit

First you need to remove the old one and inspect it to confirm where it is loose. It could be the grommets that are worn out or could be in the linkage. Repair Depends on how skilled you are. It’s not really hard to pull apart and repair. It’s riveted together, so needs new rivets to reassemble. If you don’t have the skills, then hunt up a better one.

I assume you are talking about WM1003 kit. The grommets will fit FE FC but the spring clip is essentially a FX FJ thing. You push out the old grommets from the wiper arms and push in the new ones. FE and FC use two individual clips to hold the wiper arms onto the wiper motor, I have some of these if you need them.
