G'day Les

Thanks for asking, as its a good reminder for all of us.

As mentioned during the 10th Nationals, we will be preparing a 10th Nats DVD for release in the next couple of months.  You can order yours now for only $25 which includes postage to your home address.

We would greatly appreciate any contributions from any entrants by way of digital photos and digital camera footage on CD.  You've already seen some excellent shots provided by Alex, Steve & Co. All these plus MANY MORE will be included, this will be a comprehensive and professionally edited DVD.

Please send all DVD contributions and DVD orders to:

Tim Miller
FE-HR Holden Owners Club ACT Inc
PO Box 867
Civic Square ACT 2608

Also, if anyone is able to advise fellow club members as to how to transfer/convert their digital camera footage to avi files on CD, please provide instructions here.

Thanks & Regards, Tim.
122  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Early Holden steering wheels on: April 02, 2005, 05:10:25 AM

G'day Dean

Please accept my sincerest apologies for gate-crashing this post.  Only after you have been sorted with your FE/FC steering wheel first, I also need to track down another excellent quality wheel & centre to go directly into an FE Ute being restored in Birkdale Qld.  If anyone has a one for sale, could they please contact Shane on 0419 772 003, I'm sure he's willing to pay the right price for a good one.

Thanks guys, Cheers, Tim.
123  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: The Long Road to Jindabyne on: March 23, 2005, 10:34:17 PM

I'm really sorry Edward, amazing effort though.

That is a real shame mate, you guys have worked so hard and we were all looking forward to the unveiling of the brand spanking new wagon.  I'm sure it will look simply awesome upon completion and agree its not worth rushing - you want it done right when you've gone to so much effort already (and Phillip Island is atleast only a 1 year wait, not the usual 2 years).

Of course, we hope you're still going to come along in your sedan and maybe you might be able to bring the wagon along to the Berrima Run on Sunday 15 May? (As you might know already, a few NSW Holden Clubs are meeting up with a few ACT Holden Clubs).

Regards, Tim.
124  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / 10th FE-FC Nats DVD - Order Now - Only $25! on: March 23, 2005, 10:38:39 AM

G'day FE-FC Fans

Official 10th FE-FC Holden Nationals DVD

You can vote for multiple options.

By now a quarter of all entrants are already on their way to Jindabyne, we wish them the very best of luck getting there and safe travelling.  The 10th Nats organising committee can't wait for all entrants and families to arrive - only two more sleeps!  One of our last requests for items for entrants to bring along is their digital cameras & digital video cameras (if you have one).

We've decided to put together a 10th FE-FC Nats DVD for release in a couple of months.  After the Nationals have finished, I will work on the DVD with my "film editor" mate Martin (who is away until late April on his honeymoon).  We would very much appreciate any copies of 10th Nats digital photos or digital video footage in early April.  We would also appreciate any suggestions of what people would like to see included.

I've posted this poll on the FE-FC Nats Forum for entrants to vote as to whether or not they would like to buy the 10th Nats DVD.  I've also allowed entrants to nominate how much they would be willing to pay and whether or not they can provide digital photos or digital video footage.  You can also send me an email (tailshaft@gmail.com)

Thanks & Regards, Tim.

125  For Sale and Wanted / Other Stuff For Sale / Re: TRAX - Models & Prints (FOR SALE IN JINDABYNE) on: March 23, 2005, 08:01:14 AM
G'day FE-FC Fans

A few 10th Nats entrants have requested that I bring along some TRAX models & tin prints to offer for sale in Jindabyne this weekend.  Being the 10th FE-FC Holden Nationals, it seems like a good opportunity to offer up all of the FE & FC Holden models that TRAX has ever produced.  I must admit that some models will be reluctant sales but now is as good a time as ever (prices will range from $45 to $250).

I will also bring along several other TRAX Holden models just incase anyone else is interested, ranging from $50-$70, 10% discount if you purchase 3 or more models.  PLUS a range of nine different TRAX tin prints for only $10 each, 20% discount if you purchase 3 or more prints.

Most items can be seen on my ebay link below).  I'm going to provide some flyers for those interested to pick up upon arrival in Jindabyne, but if you would like to see one now, just let me know and I will email it to you (email tailshaft@gmail.com)

Finally, I'd like to say thanks for all the support I've received during the last six months.  Cheers, Tim.

Sorry you weren't able to make it to the Nats, but really hope you can join the NSW Club cruise down to meet us in Berrima : Sunday 15 May.  It should be a great day, atleast 6 clubs meeting up...

128  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Bulletin 20 - Optional Mt Kosciuszko Hike on: March 16, 2005, 06:06:38 AM
G'day FE-FC Fans

The optional 10th Nats activity for Easter Monday is a cruise to the alpine village of Thredbo.  The drive is less than an hour but as you cruise up to the top of Australia you’ll be treated to some of the most spectacular views to be found in Kosciuszko National Park.  The first convoy for those wishing to hike to the summit of Australia’s highest peak will depart the main Station Resort car park at 10am.  A second convoy, for those simply wishing to spend the afternoon exploring the scenic village of Thredbo will leave the Station Resort at 11am.

Hiking to the Summit of Mount Kosciuzsko

All vehicles entering Thredbo Village will need a day-pass to park in Kosciuzsko National Park, regardless of the length of your stay.  These cost $16.00, the NPWS book vehicles without passes, likely given that Easter is the busiest time in the Snowies.  Those wanting to hike to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko will also need to purchase a $24 (kids $12) return ticket for the chairlift up to Eagles Nest on the top of Mount Crackenback (its worth it just for the ride and to not to have to walk the extra 2 hours).

It’s a gentle grade climb from Eagles Nest to the summit, along an $800,000 elevated steel-mesh walkway that crosses the Snowy River and features views of Lake Cootapatamba.  The walk is suitable for most ages and fitness levels, including breaks you need to allow 5 hours to make the 14km return journey comfortably.  Please ensure that you have waterproof clothing, snacks & water, hat & sunscreen plus most importantly – your camera!  The weather can change pretty quickly, so bring along some warm clothing regardless of the mornings forecast.  The group doesn’t necessarily have to stay together, those wishing to relax and have lunch first can do so.  However, we’d recommend bring food with you to eat during the walk and relaxing by the river upon your return.

If you and your family would like to join the hike to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, please let me know during the weekend at Jindabyne.

See you in the Snowies
Cheers, Tim.
129  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Bulletin 19 - Optional Horse Riding Activity on: March 16, 2005, 05:49:51 AM

G'day FE-FC Fans

Entrants are due to receive their 10th Nats Official Program in the next day or so.  One of the optional activities mentioned is horse-riding, for those family members that would like to take a break on Saturday 26 March.  Please see bulletin below from Nicola Goboly.  If you are interested in going horse-riding in Man from Snowy River country - please complete the attached form and send it to Nicola ASAP.

See you in the Snowies.

**********************************************

Hi all

You may have noticed in our Official Program, that one of the activities that is on offer in the Snowy Mountain region is horseriding.  Although we had intended to get details from everyone on Good Friday to pass on to the Horeseriding Operator, we have been asked to get that information a lot earlier so they can ensure they have all the horses available for everyone.

Can we please get those members from your club who are interested in going horseriding to complete the attached form and either email it directly back to Nicola Goboly at Julius@towerphotographics.com.au or phone through the details to Nicola at ph (02) 6291 7540.

Can you also make sure your members are aware that that this isn't a compulsory activity and that they go riding at their own risk. (Thanks) We plan to ring the operator about next Thursday 17/3 with the details.

Thanks heaps for your help.

Take care

Nicola Goboly

Goodluck Leon - absolutely unbelievable mission ahead of you.

We thought WE were busy getting the Nats ready and have been hoping both wagons being finished by Ed Ho & Ed Singleton make it in time...  we've mourned the most recent "apologies" from the likes of Julius Goboly & Ken McLean who won't have their sedans ready and sadly, Bec and I even gave up with our own FC wagon.

AND THEN... we find your pics of the wagon scattered all over the front yard.  All I can say is that we really hope you make it mate, glad you have some help around you and hope you are feeling better soon.  Either way, gotta be proud of a gutsy effort like this.

Don't give up mate, see you in Jindabyne.  Cheers, Tim.

PS. Anyone know someone at Channel 9 to organise some kinda new "Restoration Rescue" tv show to turn up at Leon's place?
131  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: The Long Road to Jindabyne on: March 15, 2005, 10:59:10 PM

You can do it Ed, we're all backing you.

You've got about 214 hours until the NSW Club Convoy departs Sydney.

Heaps of time  Smiley

Greetings FE-FC Holden Fans

We are pleased to announce that following a great deal of effort, we have finally posted out the Official Program for the 10th FE-FC Holden Nationals.  So, all entrants should expect a big white envelope in their mailbox early next week.  Please make sure you read the program BEFORE you leave for Jindabyne, as it contains a lot of information that will be of use prior to departure and during your trip.  Also, the program should contain enough information to answer all of the questions that you might have about the 10th Nats.

I'd like to thank the 10th Nats Committee for their support in preparing the program, and for their continuous commitment to quality and attention to detail.  I'd also like to thank the various FE-FC Nationals Delegates from each club that have helped with the provision of information and entrant photos.  Again, I'd like to thank Richard Thomas for all of his support with the 10th Nats website (we've kept him very busy).  Finally, I'd like to thank all the entrants for their patience and responses to my numerous emails over the last 3 months!  All this has contributed to what I hope you think is a fantastic publication & an awesome event.

G'day Guys

Just a quick one to let you know that the itinerary times have been adjusted slightly.  Also, everyone should note that daylight saving ends during the Easter weekend.  So we're all going to have to remember to adjust our watches and alarm clocks so we don't miss breakfast and the cruise on Sunday!

Cheers, Tim.
136  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: Online Convoy Photos (72 pics on website) on: March 02, 2005, 11:32:22 AM

G'day FE-FC Fans

That's it, they are all in...  72 entrant vehicle photos are now on the 10th Nats website!  The only photo missing now is Ken McLean's project, which as we know from previous Nats is well worth the suspense...

Can't wait to see you all cruise into Jindabyne

Sweet.  It sounds like a great score.  Our wagon was fantastic for weekends...  camping, surfing, taking mountain bikes to races, chasing 4WD's up hills  Smiley  Maybe not the way to go with your stocker, but can't wait to see it with all its pretty bits on, at Phillip Island next Easter!

Always great to have another wagon in the "club"...  congratulations mate, it looks awesome.  What's the story behind that one?

140  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Lowering FC on: February 27, 2005, 04:57:54 PM

Oh, and if you're ever looking for a way to "raise" your FC, I do not recommend you attempt it by dropping a tailshaft.  Sure, you get plenty of height all of a sudden, but the landing isn't so crash hot (so to speak).  This is me at age 17, first run with ACT Club, after trying to keep up with those Holdens with red-motors.  Although, once the tow-rope was hooked up, I did atleast manage to keep pace with the HR...
