101  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Sill Replacement on: March 16, 2004, 01:33:08 PM
Had a look at the tech article, very good.
Would it be ok to leave to top  horizontal section of the sill in place , put a flange in it and weld to that then cut the sill to fit and butt weld round the "A" and "B" pillars?
That way I could leave the doors on, would'nt have to un pick the welds and  most of the new welds would be hidden under the scuff plates
Any thoughts?

102  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Sill Replacement on: March 16, 2004, 01:08:53 AM
Just started to remove the sill on Station Sedan, drilled out the lower spot welds and just going to start on the upper welds. there are hundreds  of them, is there an easier way to do this or do I have to drill out every spot weld?
Is spot welding a random process?
Any advice would be great.

104  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Petrol Tank Pressure on: February 16, 2004, 02:23:19 AM
Just checked the cap, no obvious "hole", is just a small hole or something more sophisticated that I need to look for.
Thanks

106  Technical Board / General Technical / Petrol Tank Pressure on: February 15, 2004, 01:32:32 PM
Noticed a build up of pressure in the petrol tank recently, even worse on a hot day.
40 degrees today and the tank was leaking! enough pressure to force hand back when opening!
Any ideas/fixes.

Could you/anyone suggest  place to get new clips?
Thanks for your help.

108  Technical Board / General Technical / Trim Clips on: February 06, 2004, 02:05:49 PM
Have to refit the trim to a FC Wagon.
Need new clips.
Where do I get clips from.
What do they look like.
And where do they go.
I took the trim of ages ago and several of the clips were bust or missing. There seems to be several types of clip.
Any info/pics would be great.

I fitted HR drum front, cheaper than discs a booster and a complete  EJ rear. Stops very well. If you can find a HD ute rear thats even better, same size drums as HR front.

113  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Tail Gate Rubbers on: July 13, 2003, 07:59:47 AM
Thanks.
Will leave closed for the next couple of weeks to see if it helps.
If no good might have to trim.
Do utes have tailgate rubbers?

114  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Tail Gate Rubbers on: July 12, 2003, 08:18:40 AM
Just fitted new rubbers very hard to close tail gate (took two of us and only closed one side)
Adjusted striker plates as far as they would go.
Can the tail gate be adjusted?
Thanks
