101  Galleries / Members' FEs and FCs / Re: TERESA ALFIOM CUSTOM FE 58 on: April 01, 2006, 02:18:07 AM
Congratulations Alfio - Teresa looks fantastic.

I love anything new being done to FE-FC models. I can't wait to see her in Phillip Island. I hope you feel its all been worth-while. Thanks Alex for posting the build & end-results pics - really helps to show all the effort that's gone in. I've been off-forum for about a year, doing the Nats DVD and some websites, so its good to come back to some great surprises!

See you all in Phillip Island. Cheers, Tim.

Greetings FE-FC Fans

(I've just emailed Hotlips to put her out of her misery).

Thanks once again for all of the positive comments received on the 10th Nats DVD, both via the forum and via personal messages. The support has been greatly appreciated and reassures me that the effort has been worthwhile. We really did want it to be a great memento for everyone that attended and a great snapshot for everyone that missed the event.

Also, congratulations to everyone that has cracked the mystery and found the DVD "easter egg" featuring two ACT members demonstrating a distinct lack of talent at karaoke - I apologise to all that have seen it. For those that haven't seen it and don't wish to, please ignore the gossip surrounding the incident - let's just pretend it never happened. If you do want to see it - keep looking in the Disc 1 Menu area, its there...  if you haven't found it by Easter, I'll let you know in Phillip Island (maybe).

Cheers, Tim.

G'day FE-FC Fans

It is with pleasure that I announce that we have SOLD OUT of our original stock (we nearly broke even). A big thank you to everyone that has supported us by purchasing a copy of the 10th FE-FC Holden Nationals DVD twin set. However, I'm picking up another batch from Martin this weekend. So, if you missed out first time around, please order yours now for immediately delivery.

We greatly appreciate all of the very generous feedback and kinds words we've received via the forum - we are glad you all like it! A lot of effort went into the production and we feel like its been worthwhile. We all had such a fantastic time at the Nats catching up with everyone and we're glad so many of you have chosen to get the DVD's as a memento.

The DVD's are also perfect for those that couldn't make it or have never been to a Nats - to see what a great family event they are. Anyone that has been to a Nationals, rarely misses future events (I've been hooked since '95). We can't wait to catch up with everyone again in Phillip Island (sounds like its going to be awesome)!

Cheers, Tim

PS. Cat, reserve me one of those limited edition Port Bottles!
104  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: 10th FE-FC Nats DVD - Order Now - Only $25! on: December 21, 2005, 04:49:18 AM
G'day FE-FC Fans

Thanks everyone for the great response and orders we've had to the release of the DVD.

I'm very pleased to announce that as of 3pm this afternoon, all pre-orders and xmas-orders of the 10th FE-FC Nats DVD have been posted. If you are one of the 35 that got in early, you will have yours on Thursday this week and for those very few that live a little further away, Friday at the absolute latest.

Once again, I'd like to express my sincere appreciation for everyone's patience. Martin and I have worked pretty hard on the DVD and wanted to go for quality over quantity - hopefully in the end you'll have both. The main feature is an action packed 40mins PLUS there is over 120 minutes of bonus features.

Don't worry if you missed out on the pre-xmas orders, we've produced enough leftovers to cater for any orders over the next few weeks. If you order yours by this Friday, I can post it before I head north for the holidays. If you order over xmas & new years, I can post it to you on Monday 16 January 2006.

Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday break and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Cheers, Tim.

Thanks Rusty, Hotlips & Surferboy

I'm pleased to announce that I have finally received permission to use commercially released music on the 10th FE-FC Nats DVD. The good news is that now our producer can progress with mixing our edited video footage with real music. The bad news is that having the DVD officially licenced means will we have to pay an additional licence fee for every DVD that is sold. But hey, atleast we've done everything legit and can make an excellent quality product available to all entrants. Things are progressing well with the DVD and we are still optimistic that it will be ready for release before xmas. The special features on disc II are now finished and the end results looks fantastic.

Cheers, Tim.

October DVD Update

This week, the producer and I worked extensively on progressing the 10th FE-FC Nats DVD. Disc 2 of the two disc set is nearly completed with only some disc menu work remaining. Disc 1 will be our big challenge for November as we will start cutting the raw footage into chapters and source a suitable soundtrack (without risking getting busted for copyright). I can't tell you how much trouble we had getting everyone's different tapes of footage into the same format!

We suffered two significant setbacks during the last month: one was me being sent interstate for work for over two weeks. The other was the producer's stupid computer experiencing catastrophic hardware failure that appeared to have wiped my entire six months work. Thankfully his IT geek skills retrieved all our data and we were back on our way.

I feel encouraged enough to advise that the Christmas deadline looks like being met.

Cheers, Tim.
110  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: 10th FE-FC Nats DVD - Order Now - Only $25! on: September 22, 2005, 12:20:25 AM
G'day Stinky

Thanks for asking, it's good timing for your question.

Tomorrow morning, a DVD production company is delivering the last of the late raw footage that has been copied from video tape to DVD. This will be spliced into the existing edited DVD footage when I meet with the producer tomorrow night.

We've got all the sequences set out for both Discs and hope to get a lot done this month. It's been very difficult getting any time with the producer lately, DVD producing is his "2nd" job and our DVD is being done on his down time as a favour to save on costs rather than his work time.

The aim is still to have it finished and released well in time for Christmas. So all the kids have an obvious present to get Dad. And so the DVD can re-generate a lot more interest in the 11th FE-FC Nationals before entries close at the end of January 2006.

Cheers, Tim.
111  General / Events, Shows etc / Re: FE/FC Holden Car Club Of Vic Trivia Challenge on: July 26, 2005, 04:30:39 AM
Congratulations Victoria

This was a great night and the dozen of us that attended from Canberra thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We can't wait to see you all again next year - the 11th Nationals can't come soon enough!

I was particularly excited to see the special bottles of VIC FE-FC Club wine available and I'm pleased to report that my batch arrived safely last night. (No Haggis McTailshaft incidents).

Cheers, Tim.

G'day FE-FC Fans

I'd just like to say thanks for your patience and interest in the 10th Nats DVD.  Pre-production is progressing well but unfortunately the final DVD won't be ready anytime soon. Our producer works long hours and is doing this in his spare time, so my guess is that its a couple of months off yet. We were also having some technical difficulties converting some of the older video footage provided into digital DVD format.

Our goal is to bring everyone the highest quality production possible - so the producer is under strict instruction to "do it right, rather than quick".  The wait will be well rewarded with a special 2-Disc DVD Set, that will include a full-length feature movie disc and a 2nd special features disc with digital photo's (I've already sorted thru 7000+ pics)!

Cheers, Tim.

No worries Surferboy...  tell them that for an extra $25, we could send you five "Canberra" DVD's with your 10th Nats one Grin

10th NATS DVD UPDATE

Thank you to everyone that has submitted camera footage and photos.  Our producer Martin is back from his honeymoon, so I dropped off all the raw footage last night for conversion to digital files.  In the meantime, I'm cataloging the 5000+ photos we received for includion in the "special features" section of the DVD.

At this stage, it will be another couple of months before the finished product is available.  We can only work on it a couple of hours a week.  As we said at the Nats, we'd rather provide a product that has been done right, rather than done quick.  So please stay tuned for updates, we'll let you know how its going.

Thanks & Regards, Tim.

G'day Surferboy & Jason

I'm very glad that both of you have made it back safely from your HUGE roadtrips.  We can't wait to see the video footage and pics and really appreciate you sending them to us.  We still have a couple of weeks to collect footage as our DVD editor is still on his honeymoon.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone that has already sent their material to us, and those that have put their pics on the forum so that others that didn't make the Nationals have been able to see what went on: Richard Thomas, Alex Smits, Dick & Alice Thomas, John & Lynelle Titcume, Graham Fuller, Jim Altmann, Steven Johnson etc.

Jason & Sonja - Bec and I are very sorry we missed you on your cruise back thru Canberra.  Nearly 10,000kms, pretty impressive guys!

Surferboy & Cathy - Thanks HEAPS for picking up that Bootleg Brewery cap for me!  Don't send money for your DVD when you send the footage & cap, I'm covering that for you.

Everyone else, please send your footage & photos to our club by the end of April, so that we can start editing the 10th Nats DVD in May.

I've been bidding on this TRAX FE model as its the only FE/FC I don't have in my collection.  Had a quick look at what it finally sold for...HOLY CRAP!  Seems FE's are getting as popular as the FC's.  Can that be possible, an FE as popular as an FC?  Wink
