If any one is curious the blower has been identified as a 8V92 (same length but flater than 8V71) and it pumps aproximatly 400 ci of air/rev which means on a 302 (151ci/rev) i can run 1:1 and get about 2 atm even if the blowers less than 80% efficient (which it will be). and parts and kits are still available for them as they are popular in the us and still in use in buses and boats today.

Cool cheers mikey,

adding a link is to easy, here it is.
http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,10043.0.html

The motor was going to go in my other fc but my mates  hate the idea of either wasting a ford donk on a holden or wasting a holden with a ford donk...... :-\ it might be better to put some jap crap in instead.. na just joking  ;D :D.

correction that was a 60 degree twist on the roters.

and stinky the windsor block is for my ski boat and it is soon to have a very large and mostly usless blower on it. but hey its a ski boat.

just measured the rotors this morning, they measure:

Radius 75mm (3 in).
Length 403mm ( 15 7/8 in)
and it has three veins per rotor with a 120 degree twist.

apparently it was off a 10 litre 2 stroke.

I know it is grossly oversized for just about anything but it would just look nasty and very much a rat rod thing.

Being a bigger capacity pump wouldn't that mean it wouldn't have to spin as fast to get the same pressure as a smaller one? albeit a lot less efficient

any info would be appreciated.

Modification Help / Re: Engine Bay Diamentions for 1UZ-FE
December 21, 2007, 11:42:35 AM
i think if you can fit the length of a red motor and the width of a 350 chev or 308 its a safe bet that a 1uz will fit just fine... the question is where are the twin turbos and intercooler going to go ;D ;D ;D

Modification Help / Re: Aussie Desert Cooler.
December 21, 2007, 11:38:16 AM
Just thought id add i've bought two rads from Norm (ADC) and they are great but you can have the best radiator and no air flow and it will still get to hot, on a wb drag car we had a 16" thermo all the right stuff but it still got hot but after we fitted the twin fan setup from a V6 dunnydoor with the full shroud it woked a dream. on another note if anyone is waping radiators i think the VT radiator is shorter and wider enableing it to fit further forward and under the bonnet latch.... ;D should work good.

what a "Barn" frecin factory more like... bit spooky,

It has come to my atention that some where south of darwin there is a station that was used as a bombing range during the war and a mock convoy was set up for straifing practice, this included chevy trucks T models and the like, but thanks to the fact that most of the new recruits couldnt shoot most of the convoy is still in tact albeit surrounded buy UEO (un exploded ordinances) and driving vehclies on this property is not a smart move. i heard this from a mate who went pigging with one of the sons of the property owner who has been there once but forgot where it was ?????????? maybe :P

Modification Help / Re: Start of fc project
May 17, 2007, 09:09:44 AM
Hi guys i am looking at doing the commo front end and irs. Ive been told the vt irs is crap so just use the diff and hubs and fabricate the rest. as for the front the wheel track is significantly wider in the vt so a new rack and cross member is needed to keep the length of your a arms a reasonable length?? maybe VH rack??? .

Also the struts in the vt would come pretty close to hitting the bonnet in the fc and would not leave any room for the hinges

The one good thing so far is that the 6cyl vt radiator looks like an easy fit and will actually sit closer to the grill.

as for engineering or rego any major mods will need engineering so if you have to do a small mod you might as well go the whole hog and go full chassis new brakes anti pollution shit and all that. :P

This is why mine hasn,t moved on because i cant afford to do it right so im not doing it until i can ::) :-[ ;)......maybe
