Modification Help / Re: Dead Grey - What to do now.....
December 31, 2004, 01:59:08 AM
Thanks for the info RET and Matt.
I'm not keeping her that original - the plan was to HR front end/186/extractors/etc and flamejob/custom grill etc etc etc.
But my new baby daughter put a stop to that, so now the priority is getting the old girl back on the road.

RET Qn for you, What would the difference be if i found a good red 138/149 as apposed to the grey?
cheers,

Modification Help / Dead Grey - What to do now.....
December 17, 2004, 10:41:07 PM
Hi all, looks like the trusty grey has seen it's last days.

With a limit on $$$$, I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on what to do. The obvious choice is to get a replacement grey - maybe a few go fast bits ... I drive an EK No F series, but don't hold that against  me  ;D

I live in Victoria and ideally i'd want it Vicroads compliant etc. so 186 and the like would be out of the Qn at this stage, mainly due to $$$$.

What would another option be, that wouldn't require an engineers report

Any help would be much appreciated, and if anyone has a rough idea on cost, even better. Cheers and Merry Xmas.

Restoration Help / Paint help for Rims and maybe more...
November 05, 2004, 01:41:40 AM
hi all. my rims are looking rather rough, chipped and downright ugly.
I wanted to paint them myself and was wondering how to approach it. My EK (sorry "F" series enthusiasts) ;) is a bit of a mild custom, so shiny, and perfect they don't need to be.
Im after the usual info, best way to prep. the rims, best paint/sealer etc. And any thoughts on colour. Im thinking either mat black or mat red at this stage... Any help/opinions much appreciated.

Should I even contemplate a respray - grey primer for the most part, or would I just be asking for trouble??? :o :o :o
cheers,

Hi all. Been thinking for a while about some paint mods to the EK
( sorry all, but it's close enough isn't it??) - either flames or scallops - not sure which, anyhow, I was looking at using white paint (the car colour is parisian mauve - a light lavender) so to giva a sort of ghost effect. The paint is in quite good condition.

As i have never painted a car in my life, I was wondering if I should even attempt it, and if so, what the best way of going about it would be. I hear that 3M masking tape is the business for smooth clean lines?????!!!!

I'm not after anything near show quality, but want the look of a 50s custom/rat-rod - all done on the cheap so to speak.
So if anyone can provide some much sort after information, It'd be much appreciated.
cheers,
Lucky
