I've got one of each....

My dad worked at GMH  :)

Stash
As per my pm we had the wheels on a standard front end without clearance issues.  In addition we had them on our van before it was significantly modified.  At that time it had a hr front end with ht stubs and discs.  In this form we had no clearance issues.  I think the ball joint interference is caused by by the differences in hr and ht stubs.  The 14 inch spindles hk to wb have the axle moved up 20mm effecitvely lowering the car while providing balljoint additional ball joint clearance.  Hope this helps.

Regards John and Kathi.

Hi Leviakl

It is still under construction but we have other priorities at the moment.  I don't get on here much these days. I may see if I can find the time to put an update up at some stage. Hope you are enjoying the forum - there is a lot of valuable information on here and a lot of people who will be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have about FE and FCs.

Cheers, Kathi

Hi all

Here's the link to my NASCO rocker cover. Figured it wouldn't fit on my new red motor and needed some room in the shed.

Whoever had it before it came into my possession some 30+ years ago obviously loved polishing it or made a conscious decision to increase their car's power to weight ratio or decrease drag by making it more aerodynamic!  ;D

Unexpected from what I have been told.  :'(

give it 2 coats of wax if you want to really make it glow - and take your time and enjoy the experience and increased connection you will get with your car   :)

slowly but surely  :D  keep going Josh.

That's the one DJ - in the paste form.

I prefer the liquid version - but - that's just me.

Either one, it gives really nice wet glow to your duco.

One of my old mates from the show scene spotted the BRZ in a car park and immediately said it had to be mine because of the "glow" and it had to be Meguiars Yellow Wax.  :D

GM - definitely different. Everything Meguiars has is good but nothing compares to Yellow Wax AFAIC. But then I have only been using it since 1982......... Liquid gold  :)

I only use Meguiars Yellow Wax on my cars - regardless of acrylic or 2 pack - and have been using it since the mid 80's.

Can be hard to get in liquid form (we ship it in from O/S) but you can still get it in paste form.

Absolute best thing for dark colours but works just as well on light tones too - gives a beautiful wet glow to the duco.

I've tried Meguiars NxtGen (both versions) and it's ok but nothing beats Yellow Wax IMHO.

Glad to see you are in pretty good spirits, moving ahead with the car and that you have a goal - keep it up Josh :)

Forgot to mention it comes with new underfelt and a couple of metres of spare carpet for "whatever you might need it for"  :)

So the girl's gone, but the car stays.

mmmm sounds a little like me some years back! some things aren't meant to be and some things are!  :)

Looks great Jamie - so glad you are finally reaping the rewards of all your work  :)

Most modern cars don't use a rubber just "silastic".  When I replaced our drivers side channel a few years ago I omitted the rubber and set the window into the channel using silastic.  Once it was cured it then went in the car.  It still there and working great.

Hi Josh

mmmm it all makes more sense now.......

We all go through rough patches - some are rougher than others - take some time to really think through things logically.

You will come up with the right answer for you at this point in time - no regrets though Josh.

So sorry to hear about your relationship.

Kathi

Josh

All decisions are made based on where we are in life at a particular point in time.  The decision is yours and yours alone as only you know where you are at the moment and where you want to be in the future and how you propose to get there.  Things to consider before you make your decision, not in any particular order.......

- what $ have you invested to this point?
- what is a nominal $ value per hour for your time spent on it to date?
- what $ are you likely to get if you sell it as is?
- if you sell and decide to try and re-create it in the future, what $ would you need to spend?
- what $ will it cost to complete it?
- can you finish it without absolutely everything you really want and then make those changes later?
- do you really want this car or has something else taken your fancy?
- if it's the latter for the above question, are you just frustrated because yours is not finished?

Having met you, I know you are a very smart, talented and determined guy.  The answer to all of the above and many other questions that I have no doubt have asked yourself already can only be answered by you - and - you are only answerable to yourself.

I know you will make the decision that is right for you at this point in time - and - whatever decision that is, have no regrets and move forwards to where you want to be.  :)

Thanks for the motivation guys - I was wondering if I needed to make up any more pudding mixes for the Butler to boil while I'm at work earning money to keep him in the manner he's accustomed to for spending on cars!  :P

The fitting of the 'red' motor is coming along very nicely.  However this has been a very hectic and life changing year for me (Alfred).  There has been a lot of catching up with the house, shed, garden and cars.  I am just about to start on Kathi's car again.  The engineering solutions are either planned or completed and it should be on the rotisserie soon to finish off the underside.  Eg Jack will be happy to know that we have installed a 1957 Chev spare wheel well in the boot so the matching 15" whitewall will fit.

I am sure Kathi will give you an update when appropriate.  Probably after I finish off cooking all those Christmas puddings for those on the "list".  Please note the other car is coming along and I have to do some work on the big yellow motor ready for its return.

If any of you would like to help me redo the front and rear garden as well as put up a new shed I am sure it would appreciated.

Alfred.
