Title: silly question?
Post by: Ronno on October 27, 2020, 08:35:39 PM
Does the linkage to the gearbox (coming of the steering column) that is nearest (or closest) to the firewall go to the gearbox linkage on the bottom, or the one on the side of the gearbox (original Fe crash box)?

Ronno ..You have observed the two rods are different sizes , the 3/8" dia is the Selector Rod and the 7/16" dia is the Control Rod ..the selector rod goes to the selector shaft lever ,which is the one with the curled or folded back end where it attaches to the box ....cheers Vern

Thanks Vern, you saved me some time -they are very worn to about the same size, able to see it now with your help. Cheers

Ronno ..yes they do wear on ends where they attach to the levers ,mine were also ,I built them up with weld and carefully ground them a circular as possible , certainly took most of the "wobble' out ..cheers Vern .
